This is one instance where I really don't feel like arguing.

No matter how extremely your view differs from mine, I wouldn't wish this on you. I wouldn't even wish for you to see or experience this as a bystander. We need to be strong, and better than this.

I know. . . but it was so unexpected and surprising
    and yes shocking.

    I mean . . I am the squeamish type
[I avoided watching the Louisville player snapping his leg
I hate seeing that isht . . empathy too strong]

I didn't like they semi-political rhetoric that came with it
While I might agree or disagree with the message
the DAY OF is not the time . . . IMO

As an actual hippie back when they existed, let me say that whoever wrote this is beyond stupid. Beyond stupid and clueless as to what a hippie was. A hippie wouldn't dream of doing something like this. We were non-violent protesters, when we protested, which I certainly did.

The creeps, the psychotics, the demented fools come out of the woodwork when something like this happens. I wish CLUTCH would ban every ****ing one of them.

To be clear, macalu was quoting some idiot. I'm talkijng about the idiot and all his fellow travelers.

Again you have to consider that it is 26.2 miles long which is more than twice the diameter of the 610 loop in Houston. Even if we consider just security a quarter mile on each side of the route that is a perimeter of 53 miles. The Boston route cuts through a mixture of low density suburban development to high density urban development and park land. There are tons of ways into and out of the race area.

Unless we are going to call out the military there is no way to secure the race route.

He isn't saying a hippie did it.

Are hippies conspiracy people? It would be a new one on me, but I'm not hippie expert. I'd be far more likely just to call him an idiot.

seriously!?!? The people who literally ran towards the explosions to try their best to save lives having no clue if there are any secondary explosives in the vicinity that could kill them are useless and overpaid?!? ****ing disrespectful sob.

You have to make compromises. You would have to figure the most likely threatened areas would only be the high density urban areas. That way the secured perimeter could at least be somewhat manageable.

So here's what we know about who did this: absolutely nothing. Watching cable news right now is an exercise in manufactured drama, hysterical wild ass guesses and experts saying nothing of value. My favorite was catching Mark Fuhrman educating Hannity on terrorism. It was particularly hilarious in a disturbing sort of way.

I think I'll give up TV until the case catches a break.

Look, if the bomber is foreign, it is likely a matter of mining the available data and doing the investigative legwork necessary to break it open. If the bomber is domestic, same thing applies with the added probability that they come from a place or group that is not all that smart and somebody is likely to crack at some point.

Until one of those things happens, everyone needs to chill.

Early reporting gets a lot wrong all of the time. Yesterday there were supposedly 7 or 8 devices. As of now the only confirmed explosives were the two that actually went off.

It's a huge problem when there's all of these rumors out there and then "experts" and commentators start using those rumors to substantiate their own wild theories about what happened.

I just can't wait for actual facts to come to light so we can dispense with the silliness.

That might be a tad premature to assume that the coordinators were foreigners. From past terrorist attacks, the terrorist group were quick to claim responsibility as it is one of their ways to promote to their followers that they are winning the war. So far none has stepped up, unless that is being kept a secret from us.

    http://www.myfoxboston.com/story/21...t-back-to-gate-at-logan-airport#ixzz2QdbUfrar

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Sources told FOX 25 there was an American Airlines flight that was headed to Chicago. There were two men on that plane – not sitting next to each other – and speaking Arabic.

There were some concerned marathoners on the flight so the plane was brought back to the gate and the two men were escorted off the plane.

No other details were immediately available.

I disagree completely with D12Eminem (and anyone who would name themselves that) -- in fact, people like that and Alex Jones revolt me to the point of physical agitation and anger. I'm surprised they are not attacked in public by people whose decency and intellectual integrity has been outraged.

However, the idea that it can not happen here is something that is also very false. As you said in an earlier post, no one thinks our government is innocent. They have set up fascist dictatorships and death squads throughout the world to control other populations. The only reason they do not have such practices or death squads in this country is that they do not need them in order to maintain power.

It may not happen in mine or your lifetime, but if economic conditions in this country ever dilapidated, the complacency of the population will likely disappear. At that time the powers that be will finally feel challenged, and I do not think it is beyond anyone who holds power to use any means necessary (means they have been willing to use in other countries already) in order to maintain that power.
