The people, the media and the NBA organization all want/need the Lakers in the playoffs. The refs will be standing by on their side for sure. Unless the Rockets play like a championship team, the Lakers will be much much favored to win in their home court. With Mchale, I simply don't have any confidence in winning this one. If the Rockets face OKC in the playoffs, they will be sweeped. It doesn't mean the Rockets can surely win the other teams such as the Spurs, the Nuggets or any of them, but surely not OKC. Nevertheless in theory the Rockets might surprise everyone by winning all of them.
Lin decent offensive game(scored mostly on the Rook) Good defensive game Dragic had 4points and 9 AST in the 1half on Lin(missed some easy layups early when he got by lin) Lin would cut off Dragic ability to get to the basket but Asik would still cheat which left Scola wide open , and led to 5-5 in the 1Q and 5 Ast for Dragic Dragic only gave up 7 points and 3 Ast when on Lin Lin help bring a 11 point deficit to 2 in the 2Q Harden should not have played in the second half(injured) 2Half missed 85% of his shots and let Tucker abuse him Parsons Great all around game Handled the ball way too much Bad coach EVERYWHERE should have taken Harden out after halftime because of his bad knee In the 4Q went Bev Lin Harden Parsons Delfino = Bad Rebounding, no shot blocker should have went Bev Lin Parsons Delfino T.Jones
Lin is fine. Mainly it is due to Harden's poor shooting. Lin: FGM: 8/19= 42 % 3PM: 2/6=33% Harden: FGM: 5/18= 28 % 3PM: 0/7 = 0 %
If Les wanted to fire Adelman with 1 year left on contract, hope he's the same with McHale and Morey doesn't try to stop him.
Why is Scola owning us so badly every time he plays Houston. Is the match up that bad for Asik? Asik is kept as a low impact player every time we face Pheonix.
Obviously I would have preferred to win, and completely understand all the scenarios you and others have stated. Having said that, it is unlikely that we win whether it is Denver or SA or OKC. I would have sat Harden in the second half, he was a shell of himself. Still the doom and gloom is insane... From Harden not being clutch ( if clutch players avoid injury I guess Kobe really shat the bed), to basically calling this season a fraud... No matter what happens here out, short of Harden blowing out his knee, the Rockets have had a very productive season and the future looks good. No one knew Harden would be this good, Lin would improve, Asik would emerge and Parsons as well. Just look at the bigger picture.
James Harden healthy. That's the only thing that's going to attract a superstar is another superstar...unless you are in LA or NYC you need a superstar to get one. Getting the playoffs and the fantastic year that Harden has had. No one is saying to not get the 6th seed...but meh we weren't beating the Nuggets. If we get one win against the thunder or Spurs then it proves the same thing. That this is a team on the rise. As long as we aren't getting blown out by 30 points each game I'm not too worried about it.
didn't watch the game but the box score shows Parsons having a great ****ing game...what do you mean?
Maybe McHale is tired of watching a lack of effort from his team. Last year we laid down and brought no effort when you had to work hard to not make the playoffs. This year you have some guys with 25 million + contracts playing like they don't want to be there.Lackadaisically running the court, 3 players being out hustled by one Sun for a rebound, them diving for loose balls..us not. This showing up game in and game out with a half ass effort won't cut it. If you don't want to put out effort, he has a place for you on the bench.
Rocket shave no chance in hell of beating OKC & Denver. But we have a shot of potentially upsetting the Spurs. If we fall to OKC this game will be brutal.
was Harden trying to do his injured Kobe impression? if he's hurt and struggling, he should just sit down even if the coaches do not pull him out. Morey tweeted about the lack of rebounding tonight. seriously, I think Morey is keeping his options open on the head coaching position. Maybe if we get DHoward, but if not ...
Thats a good question. I don't know why. Asik has done a good job on guys like Tim Duncan. I guess Scola is extra motivated to play well against him. That said, taking Asik out did not slow him down at all, but it did allow Kendall Marshall and other scrubs to get endless layups.
Now the Suns have 25 wins and the Cavs have 24 wins. Why did they try to win this game? "The Rockets shouldn't even have to play the Suns 4 times this season." -Jeff Van Gundy

It's a ticker problem....Scola has a big one and Asik has one the size of of peanut. Scola was wearing him out early BTW.
Harden needs to be rested period. he is doing more damage to himself and the team right now.McHale has managed to injure a perfectly healthy 23 year old with his excessive playing time.
