Not a big McHale fan but he can't make the players want to give effort. His only recourse is to sit your ass down which is what he did. Not the smartest move but I know I'm really sick of watching a lack of effort starting games and trying to dig out of a hole the rest of the game. I hate to say it but could have EASILY lost to the Suns last Tuesday and the effort has been poor for several games at the start.
heh? if parsons should never handle the ball how does that make Lin almost to the point of useless? you need more than one ball handler. Lin and Parsons bring entirely different skill sets, i dont see how one cancels out the other, if anything it's complementary the same way lin/fields was.
Asik on Scola would have its advantages and disadvantages. Advantage size Rebounding Disadvantage Scola would have quicker movement and asik would struggle on the defensive end to keep up with him
youngest team in the league couldn't beat the worst team in the West, how are we going to beat an inspired Lakers team playing with passion for the first time this season- their playoff positioning is on the line and they are on the verge of closing out their season on a 5-0 finish. ours is on the line and all we had to do was win one game in Phoenix. a bad matchup on a back t back? we crushed the Kings last night and rested our entire starting lineup in the 4th quarter I'm sorry I don't accept that. I have been dogging the Lakers all season and now I have conceded that they will beat us on Wednesday for the 8th seed.
They're not going to fire a head coach that made the playoffs with the youngest team in the league, even if there are better coaches out there that can also hold players more accountable.
I'd rather draw OKC than the Spurs, if the Rockets miss out on playing Denver. The Spurs took OKC to 7 last year. OKC was rolling and had Harden. They don't have Harden this year. The Spurs have Kawaii Leonard 1 year more experienced, both Danny Green and Tiago Splitter have improved a lot. And Tim Duncan is Tim Duncan. He's going to own the Rockets frontline.
Coach played small but expected SFs to out rebound centers. Happened last time. Wonder whether we'll get the 1) players just got to do more, or the 2) you're playing in the NBA, **** recharging your batteries pep talk from McHale this time? So clutchfans can bask in McHale's wisdom and limping leg bravado and go on a McHale for COY crusade again ...
I said they both sucked. Never mentioned anyone particular or singled anyone out. The shooting out of the backcourt was terrible especially in the second half
I think he's saying Parsons is playing PG thus making Lin useless as he's behind both Harden and Parsons in the playmaking dept. Parsons should stop handling the ball so that he doesn't cut into Lin's PG duties even more.
When McFail put harden in with 4:50 left, I knew the game was over. Should let him rest for the LA Fakers game.
What he said is true. Rockets aren't beating the thunder, Spurs, or Nuggets. They will be lucky to get a 6 game series against any of those teams.
I thought Mchale was playing small ball and wanted to rest starters for play offs since he played the bench so much...so what was really going on there? lol I'm a little confused
I know that's been brought up before, but I just can't agree with leaving the bench to close it out. The starters may not have been playing well, but to me the bench is there to serve a few purposes, mainly to bridge the gap for the starters, either to rest them, match up opponents rotations, or in some instances, to make a point to the starters. But, it's two games away from post season, during a critical game with potential to throw off where this team falls on the standings and determines who they play. The only two reasons I would agree with in this game, so close to the playoffs, are the resting the starters reason, and the matching up rotations reason. Both were used up, thus the point where the team was within several points, the starters, especially Asik, should have come back in.
Which one would look better for FA's and get more momentum and confidence for next season. A sweep against OKC or a 6 game out against the Nuggets or Spurs?
