Are we voting by value or by importance? Kind of misleading in many ways. Because value can mean so many things.

CP improves a lot this year, but the team still went 4-1 without him

Omer Asik (and he has a case for being THE most valuable)

Someone on RealGM said it best. Our defense is basically Asik and screw it we'll just outscore you.

Asik by a good margin, Parsons next, then Lin. They were all significant contributors, but Omar was such a surprise. I expected a big immobile stiff.

True. Which is why the NBA MVP award has had confusion and controversy, until LeBrob started making it easy.

Asik by a looooong way. Parsons and Lin are both replaceable IMO.

    2- Asik
    3- Parsons
    4- Lin

Lin and Parsons are close, but I'd say parons is ahead

Still think it's pretty ridiculous to say Asik is valuable. Sure, he gets rebounds. Guess what, rebounders are not hard to find...every team can easily pick up rebounders. Reggie Evans is paid $1.6mil. Good defense is harder to find, and defense and rebounding are not completely the same things. But Asik's defense? No matter what PR Morey is trying to pull, eyeball test/boxscore/advanced stats all say he's mediocre at best on defense.
Parsons and Lin are easily more valuable to the team in my eyes.
We have a top offense- because our offensive players are good. Our defense is mediocre - because our players are mediocre at defense, and especially the anchor of our defense is mediocre.

Cute. How about showing us some of those "metrics" because Asik ranks favorably in all defensive metrics. Highest defensive winshare on the team, lowest defensive rating for a player playing big minutes on this team.

Teams score 7.6 points per 100 possessions on us with Asik off the floor.

As for eyeball test you must be blind.

Sorry you are an idiot. Next time you want to use the eyeball test/metrics argument that I love to use make sure you can back it up because you are dead wrong.

Its not Asik's fault that we have so many defensive liabilities that can't rotate properly or defend their man. He has the same problem as Dwight Howard who has incompetent teammates when it comes to defense.

If you look a bit harder, you might find actual "advanced" stats. I'm not gonna bother responding to the rest of the condescending ****.

Definitely Omer. Barely played tonight and what happens? Lose to a tanking Suns team.
