It is the exact same spot. That's an old Google street view image.

The store that says Aveda is now the Sugar Heaven at 669 Boylston St Boston MA 02116. The store to the left of Sugar Heaven is Marathon Place at 673 Boylston. You can see it in both photos. They just probably put in sidewalk seating now like many places on Boylston.

Also, look at the office building to the left of Marathon Place. Identical to the one in the photo. Look at the sidewalk markings, too. JuanValdez is correct though; that block used to have many more trees, so the city must have taken them out for some reason.

No, and sorry to be blunt: as with most tweets, they are just confirming that the tweeter doesn't know crap yet.

What a horrible tragedy. I'm anxious to see what we can learn from this.

Had a family scare. Just heard my second cousin and her family are safe. Spooked my father bad because she was running the race in place of her mother who recently passed from a hit and run while cycling.

Terrible day. I hope whatever sick b*stard is responsible is brought to justice.

    LA Times:

Officials began questioning at least person in connection with the explosions that tore through the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, killing at least two people and injuring dozens more, officials said.

Meanwhile, a third explosion was reported, but investigators later said it was just fire-related and unconnected to what was increasingly looking like a deliberate attack on one of the nation’s most celebrated sporting events.

A federal law enforcement officials said authorities were questioning a Saudi national who was taken to a Boston hospital with injuries. The person was not identified as a suspect.

When you see so many people with leg injuries, you know that the bomb and the blast wave/shrapnel was concentrated low. A child would have all their vitals right in the path of the blast. No words.

I was about to ask why there were so many lower leg injuries....

Reporter just said because shrapnel was used....i dont think she meant broken pieces from that mailbox.
