At this point we all know the Houston Rockets qualify for the playoffs, these last couple of games should be used to position themselves for success. The Rockets match up better against the Spurs rather than the Nuggets. I feel they should do what ever they need to do to face the Spurs in 1st round....P.S. I am a Houston native currently going to school at the University of Texas in San Antonio and it would be awesome to see them play here
The goal should be to avoid any probability of playing OKC, which means we still need to beat Phoenix. After that we can see how the picture shapes up.
hmm i wonder why ppl think he is #1 PG when he is always injured ... particularly when it matters the most...
I've always welcomed a first round match with the Spurs. I think the Rockets can keep up with them offensively. Pop is a genius, but I like our chances against an aged team like the Spurs.
oh my god, one post from you that isn't a moronic post... I finally have to agree with you. Denver will CRUSH us, injuries or no injuries. Their bigs are better, and their coach outcoaches Mchale like crazy. I'd rather face a rusty-Parker Spurs than a injured Nuggets. There's a reason why we're 0-4 vs them. Some of the Spurs game were actually winnable.
That is all true but in 2009, when the rockets faced LA in the 2nd round, we were expected to be swept since we were practically dominated by them that season...they swept us and beat us by an average of 12-15 ppg but im not sure about ppg. What im just saying is that no matter what happened in the regular season, we still have a chance in a 7 game series. dont let the regular season numbers get to you because denver hasnt proven anything in the playoffs either so who knows. I'll take either team IMO
What's the tiebreaker if teams split the season series an have the same record? Whatever it is the lakers have to have it on us if we're gonna drop to 8
good for you, since you know the future youll bet all of your money on nuggets and get filthy rich...:grin::grin:
I prefer what ever seed gets the Spurs in the 1st round. Manu wont play or play rusty/hurt. Parker will be rusty and not 100% Duncan is old.
I stay away from Spurs, they are tanking to avoid the Lakers. I'd be surprised if Duncan and Parker plays tonight, if they don't play, it shows how much they care about seeding. They want us, or the Warriors because Popovich knows up-tempo teams likely will not win against his slow, Duncan-led offense. I want the Nuggets, they are a bad road team and historically Karl flames out in the playoffs, usually quickly. In a series, Spurs are too experienced to not ignite.
You may have a point, except we had a far better coaching staff in 2009. I bet if McAwesome coached that team, we wouldn't even get close to a game 7.
Let me break it down for everyone. Houston Rockets - 2 games left (@PHX & @LAL) - If we go 2-0, we finish in 6th seed. - If we go 1-1, we still keep 6th seed if the Warriors lose at least one of their last 2 remaining games. We drop back to 7th seed if they(GSW) go 2-0. - If we go 0-2, we could finish in 7th seed if the Warriors also finish 0-2. We drop to 8th seed if Golden State wins at least one of their remaining games. *Notes - We own the tie-breaker vs the Warriors. The Lakers will have the tie-breaker against us by having the better conference record.
