so memp can be a dbag and just lose to jazz intentionally? maybe to punish the lakers for ripping them off few years ago?
While I generally agree with your statement you do realize Jkidd lead the nets to back to back finals. Bad comparison.
Yeah, Kidd is pretty much an elite player at everything but shooting,so it's hard to rank his contributions. I just feel that if you can sag off a PG you strengthen your defense so much so it's a big deal. That said, Kidd was still avery good penetrator despite being somewhat predictable due to his lack of shot.
Ugh it's so annoying how things worked out... i promise you the Lakers would have lost this if Kobe played 48min again and then their playoffs would be seriously in jeopardy. I just don't see how people don't realize this and just assume I'm being a hater.
Jazz still to win their last two games to make the game on Wednesday count. I hope it does and Rockets can ruin the Lakers chance to be in the playoffs.
You're not bein a "hater", but you can't definitively say what the outcome would have been if Kobe would have played or not. Nobody can say that.
The Lakers played their hearts out...but the key will remain their guard play...if Nash can come back...Dwight is starting to look like scary Dwight...he was playing like a man possessed...no jokes...just playing dominant basketball... PS...just end all talks about Dwight leaving...He will not leave the Lakers...guaranteed...The Rockets will not land Dwight...he just doesnt want to leave...
If he leaves he's turning down an extra possible 30 million dollars, the city of Los Angeles, and he will be crucified by the media for bailing on another organization. I think is a 0% chance Dwight leaves. He's not about to deal with the drama of a new team again.
This is true. However, having watched quite a few Laker games, I can say that the primary problem is that the bigs are not engaged defensively, and, from having played quite a few games, I know this is due to not being utilized offensively. In most Laker games, the Lakers look ok in the first half when the bigs get the ball but then in the second half Kobe decides to monopolize the offense more, which leads to a deficit and then Kobe doing too much to win the game in dramatic fashion. Meanwhile, because he's so gassed and because the bigs are not involved, the defense suffers. This is just not good basketball. Tonight, the bigs were the focus the whole game and it showed as they ran up a big lead at the end. I want to clarify that I don't think Kobe is a bad player, but anytime you have one guy insist on being "the man" when he's not even the biggest mismatch on the team that is a recipe for disaster. Kobe needs to play more like Ray Allen did when he came to the Celtics, and then he will be a huge asset. Perhaps when he returns, the Lakers will have established a system and he will fall into place like this. I wouldn't bet on it though. If Nash is healthy by the playoffs the Lakers are going to give any team they face a very tough series. With Kobe they would have gone out in 4 or 5 just like the last two years. Of course I can't say this definitively but I am very confident and that is absolutely not hating.
Uhh, didn't he lead his team to the finals a couple times? It's no surprise the Lakers won tonight against a hobbled Spurs team. Happens all the time, the rest of the team steps up when their star player goes out with an emotional injury. The Lakers from what I saw had a mediocre game honestly.
Omg, new thread on Lakerground: "If the Lakers win the championship..." "Does it count toward Kobes ring count in his chase to catch MJ? I know the haters will try not to give him the credit...." This why I hate Kobe stans, i mean, ugh, r****ded http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=160072
The Nets point differential were no better and sometimes than some of the lower Western seeds like the Finley-Nash-Dirk Mavs or the Wolves. They just got to beat even crappier Eastern teams. "Kidd brought his team to the Finals" is one of the most pathetic accomplishments ever.
Eh, whatever. Back to the topic at hand, the Lakers just shot 36 percent and it took a career game from Steve Blake to barely beat a hobbled Spurs team, at home, lol. Consider me not worried.
Rondo wasn't a huge factor in '08 when they won it but he was great in '10. He's a good player but he needs a jumper to be elite. But no one speaks of Rondo as being an all time great like they do with Kobe, nor does he eat up 30m in cap. The Lakers had their best defensive game of the year, similar as to what they did when they played Indy. It is no surprise that the Lakers are engaged defensively when Kobe is out because 1) Kobe is one of the worst defenders in the league and replacing his minutes with multiple fresh players is obviously an imorovement and 2) Dwight and Pau try a lot harder when they know they will get touvhes on the other end; this is simply a question of confidence and motivation.
Haven't watched TP for a while. Last time they met, Tony was scoring at ease but he couldn't buy one today. And the four 3's by Blake in the first half wasn't open ones either, a couple of them closely contested. They play solid defense too, that's how they got the game close in 1st half.
Haha the Lakers winning the championship would be the worst thing for a Kobe stan. But res assured no one is winning the title this year except for Miami. The Lakers do have a shot at winning a round or two now which is way more than you could say last week.
