Not sure if it has been clarified in the show. But from what I remember the Greyjor men knocked him out and left him at Winterfell, and Roose Bolton was sending his b*stard to retake it. Winterfell was put to the torch and it's not sure by who. His captors are unclear as well. If you have not read the book and don't want to know who his captors are don't read: Spoiler He is being held hostage and tortured by Bolton men, mainly Ramsay Snow Roose's b*stard who has not yet been cast in the show
OK, so I guess we're not supposed to know who they are. <strike>Without</strike> With so many storylines, sometimes I'm not sure if I'm missing things or if they just haven't been explained yet.
Concerning your spoiler: Spoiler The rumor (virtually confirmed), is that he has been cast. Ramsay Snow has already been seen and is Spoiler the guy who helped Theon escape. He was cast as "boy" to not give it away, since this period of Theon's capture is absent from the books, but there's a very good chance that "boy" is Ramsay and he's just ****ing with Theon as is his nature. They didn't introduce "Reek" last season, but this is accomplishing the same task. Ramsay Snow is there and you don't even know it, just like "Reek" was in Winterfell and nobody knew it was Ramsay. Notice in this episode as he kills the last of the men chasing Theon, the man goes "oh, you b*stard". Hint, hint, hint. Now, this is kind of just a theory at this point. But I'm 99% certain that this is the case. Yeah, you're not supposed to know who has him yet. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just say that there's a very good reason why they're not telling the audience who has him.
Well I'm glad I came here because I was watching a torrent and I thought someone trolled me. Seemed very out of place and not fitting to the scene.
The song "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" is in the books and is sung in that episode at least twice. Once with the marching guys and then the rock-version in the credits. In the books, of course, you have no idea how the songs actually sounds since you just read the words. The song does have relevance and, I think, we shall see that relevance soon. The other song that has been highlighted in the series is "The Rains of Castemere" and that, too, has been featured in the show and sung by characters as well as over the end credits sung by a rock/pop act (The Nationals). The main difference is that The Nationals version doesn't sound like it would be out of place in the GOT universe whereas this pop/punk version of "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" clearly does!
I think the sound was wrong on my torrent. They started jamming it before his hand was cut off and I couldn't hear what they were saying. It was very odd.
That's what I figured but didn't want to give anything away. Something along those lines happened in book 5 I think, so unless there completely changing his storyline I think your correct.
They interviewed some executive producer at HBO and he mentioned he's actually flattered that Game of Thrones is the most pirated show of all time. But he did say his one concern is that people torrenting the show will get sub-standard video and audio and that's a shame because they spent so much time and money on the production. I guess your experience bears that out.
I've bought the first two season's on Blu Ray so I don't feel that bad about torrenting the show, and fi they had a per month plan just for HBO GO I would be all over that. Gotta do what I gotta do.
Damn that episode was awesome. Spoiler Blackfish is a badass, and I find Dany's interactions with the trader highly amusing. Also they've somehow made Craster every bit as reprehensible if not more so than I remember him. Jaime scenes were perfect and I thought the ending worked well. Really jarring in so many ways and even though I didn't like the song the whole setup was perfect. Also, lol@torrent guys getting trolled by bad audio sync.
I agree I thought it was an excellent episode all around, the scene with the small council was perfectly done.
I have a feeling that Littlefinger told the girls not to take the money because of Tyrion helping to get the redhead out of trouble when she was captured by Cersei.
I thought it was obvious that they were paid by Tyrion in advance and told not to take the money, to make Pod feel good about himself. But it was never confirmed.
this seems the most likely explanation. this episode was definitely one of my favorite of the series. i loved the ending with the upbeat rock music after jamie gets his hand cut off
