Their basic package is basically only the local channels. The lowest package that includes channels such as espn, tbs, fox sports also include CSN.
No, that isn't my logic here. They shouldn't assume the lowest of the low. But, when you are talking about the "lowest of the low" at the current time, and an owner who has no track record in this business of any kind, and one who just publicly told the fan base "send me 10 million dollars if you want me to sign a free agent" . . .I certainly wouldn't assume the highest of the highs, which is close to what they are doing
Again, you're assuming the lowest of the low. It would be the height of ****ing stupidity to spend any more money on the team this season. The team isn't going to be competitive, so why spend money now that you could save for later? Why compromise draft pool money and hurt your draft positioning? Crane's "10 million dollars" comment has absolutely zero bearing on his likelihood of spending money down the line. None. There's absolutely no reason to think he won't spend at a proportionate amount for the market, other than to just assume the worst for the sake of assuming the worst. I'm not assuming the highest of the high. I'm assuming common sense and logic -- that a team in a market like Houston is unlikely to be a cellar dweller over a 20-year span. As far as your comment giving more bias to the "current time", then by that logic, an owner could just go on a Marlins-style spending spree in the year prior to TV expiration, win a ton of games, and then act as though that's the new norm. Doesn't work that way. The bottom line is that barring extraordinary circumstances, things are cyclical in a market like Houston or Dallas. The team will likely have a few bad years, a few good ones and several in between. The best way to judge likely ratings is to examine results from the prior 15 or 20 years, both the good and bad, and see what the average is.
Just to help me clear things up. Once the playoffs starts, there will be coverage on other networks like TNT? Everyone will have access again? Or No?
TNT and ESPN don't black out for the local teams however NBA TV does. But the Rockets have requested a waiver to have the black out lifted on NBA TV for any playoff games for us so we can watch them.

ESPN and TNT aren't blacked out. NBATV usually is, however, the rockets are requesting the blackout to b lifted for the playoffs only.
Seems like a PR move since every WC game will probably be on TNT, ESPN or ABC. Look for Pacers/Hawks and Brooklyn/Atlanta to be relegated to NBATV.
192 pages of hot, steaming, fly-infested HORSE CRAP and finally on page 193....some good news. Season is almost over and all playoff games will be on TV. The misery of not being able to watch my Rockets on TV is, for the most part, over. That's all I need to know. No reason to even check this thread anymore until next year's preseason (assuming no deal with Dish is reached by then). I love the Astros and I'm not a fair-weather fan.....I just don't enjoy watching baseball on TV. Much rather listen on the radio while doing something else or actually be at the ballpark. So this issue is pretty much over for me until October.
I don't think that is possible for a large majority of bus on this thread. Can you boycott something you don't have access to?
