One player is cooling off down the stretch. The other is heating up.

Each guy is averaging twenty minutes per game in April.

    Steals per game

    Beverley: 0.3
    Douglas: 2.8

Anyone who a rookie against a seasoned vet is nit-picking and should be ashamed.

Douglas is better right now but Bev is fine especially if we are banking on potential,

Funny, these were the same problems Jeremy Lin supposedly had before Linsanity.

But Jeremy never got enough burn to assess anything at that time. Beverley has played in much more minutes, important minutes, crunch time minutes, extended minutes to better gauge his abilities. Having said that, it is interesting that, Lin was also noted for his pesky defensive prowess back in GS above all other attributes when he played his 5-10 minutes a game, lol.

As for Beverley, I think he'll round out well. He's a hard worker, he's got a good head on his shoulders, and I think that his vision is decent, runs an offense decently, can score, and is no less prone to snowballing his mistakes than any rookie. I just don't personally see as much of an upside as some here see, and I think he's already pretty solid. Lin's got very high upside because he has SOO many flaws, yet he still does what he does, if he overcomes his flaws and rounds out his strengths more, he would be a really well rounded exciting influential floor general for years to come.

As has been pointed out many times already, a guy with Beverley's amount of playing time in good European leagues is not a "rookie". The NBA should not even be allowed to class such players as "rookies".

Beverly is one of, if not, the most athletic guy on the Rockets team. He's a backup and so is TD.

I felt like the two didnt get enough opportunities last game to play against each other. But when they did, it looked like a draw. I hope they get more minutes today; their matchup is one more intriguing, imo, then any other when these 2 teams play against each other.

I just recall everyone here saying all the same things back when i made the start Kyle Lowry thread.
I'm telling you all now, this is almost the exact same situation.

The Beverly, Lin back court is great for defense, put Chandler as the three and boom you have rest for James! If things get testy play James as the three and you have a potent defense lineup.

Lin and Beverly need to shoot 2000 jumpers everyday in the summer and we'll have the second coming of the Kenny smith, Sam casell back court.

You know lowry's diva burnout last year really rubbed me the wrong way.

While i would prefer Dragic to Lin, just because goran is the more polished player I give Jeremy some slack B/c it's his first year starting.

But alas Kyle is looking more and more like a player who has peaked and is also becoming injury prone.

Speaking of Point Guard projects i really love that youngster that memphis drafted this year, tony wroten. That kid under some good coaching could become a player.

Is there any other forum that hypes a back up role player that much ? Unbelievable ? He plays great defense. Everything else about him is believable, at least at the moment.

No one is hyping him up. It's called sports talk for a reason we like to talk about ALL the players on our team.

Pretty much all of them. Every single fanbase hypes up the backup players and of course the back up qb in the NFL. When they inevitably fail everyone blames the coach. I remember last year with the Knicks when Tony Douglas and Bibby were sucking and everybody said play the Asian kid because he cant be much worse and umm.,,Well we still blamed the coach.

Patrick needs to shoot more. He passes up too many shots.
