Yeah, that's why all the chatter about his career being over is premature. Modern "medicine" for the win!

I get the feeling Kobe gets amnestied and CP3 joins Dwight.

I've always hated Kobe and the Lakers for the longest time. However, I do have a healthy respect for Kobe because of the player he is. It kinda feels like a piece of the nba just died.

Man, love him or hate him you just don't wish an injury on someone. Hope Kobe can comeback from this. (If he decides to...)

    Well said.

Never really liked him either. I do have an appreciation for his work ethic and the player that he is. He probably always had a great work ethic, but I like to think that he feels a little guilty inside that he gets all the superstar calls. He works harder than anyone else so he feels justified in getting them.

If you ask any random person in the world to name a NBA player, more often than not, it's Kobe. Opposing team fans don't pay to see the Lakers, they pay to see Kobe. If it's excitement, Clippers, Heat, Nuggets are probably more exciting. If it's good team basketball, Spurs are more consistent than any other. His opinions and comments get media coverage before games, and opposing fans take special glee in beating Kobe when he's in town. He is a big part of why NBA makes so much money.

He also cultivated a reputation for carrying the team and hitting big shots. As athletic and as complete a player as LeBron is, he can't match MJ's and Kobe's level yet. They had the ego to demand that last shot and gain all the glory or suffer all the blame that go along with it.

It does feel like part of NBA just died.

That sucks. I wanted the Lakers to miss the playoffs, but not like this. Huge respect for the way he willed his team to get back into the playoff chase.

Any D'Antoni interviews yet? I would like to hear his reasoning for keeping Kobe out there after getting hurt twice before this season-ending injury.

That he wanted to make sure HE got the two points to add to his statistics?

Also the whole anally raping a teenager and then immediately calling his wife to cover his tracks tells us all we need to know.

This is rather sad, even though I didnt really care if they made the playoffs or not.

Heal fast soon Kobe Bean Bryant. The NBA needs you.

Kobe quoted saying he had no Achilles. As much as I dislike the guy on the Lakers, I hold much respect for the man. One of those guys you dislike because he's not on your team. Hopefully this isnt the final chapter for Mr. Bean

D'Antoni is on the hot seat. Incredible pressure for him to make the playoffs, and every game is almost like an elimination game. Its not hard to understand his perspective.

LMFAO he isn't the best player in recent history. It is arguable that he has been the best player in the league 1-2 times at best. He wasn't even the best player on his team for half his career and he hasn't been able to hold a candle to LBJ.

First ballot hall of famer? Yes
One of the 4-5 best Lakers ever? Probably

unlike people that post here I don't get emotional about millionaire athletes. HEY KOBE injuries happen just do your rehab and come back strong sometimes next season. The nba will still be here when you return along with your 30 mill dollar contract

Seriously..it's not that sad. He was gonna retire soon anyway..

I will never be sad knowing somehow, SOME WAY...Lakers will end up with the next mega superstar to lead them for the next 17 years.

    Go cry on Lakers forums.
