Ugh. Thats so horrible bc you know how probable it is. If they can send Rose to his hometown Chicago and Irving to Butthurt, Ohio as payback for the Decision, then theres no level to which Stern (and now Silver) will sink to keep LA a championship contender.

Kobe said he heard it popped and he cried during the press conference, you know when you have it. Cushing knew he had one too when he got his. This is a 1 year injury and maybe longer because Kobe is older, look at Derrick Rose's comeback this year and he is younger. The Lakers last year won a lot of games when Kobe was out. This is actually sad news for the Rockets, Dwight is going to be the man now.

I feel for Kobe, Lakers fans and the team. He literally is the best player in recent history. As much as I detest the Lakers, I feel sorry for their team. This is from Kobe's facebook page:

On the bright side women around the country won't have to worry about being raped as much for the next 12 months.

He's going to miss all of next year, and you have to wonder if that spells the end for his career as a Laker. His contract is up after next season, and are they going to want to spend money on a guy who just had a career threatening injury and is 35 years old?

That may make sense especially when he is going to make 30 mil next year.

But you just can't do that. We know it won't happen. No way

This probably makes Dwight even more likely to stay because he'd feel too guilty to leave.

Kobe is going to be 35 next season.
If he were 30, maybe. At his age he might as well retire, he'll never be the same player again.

Maybe he could come back after a year or two and play for a year in the Italian League, where he always has wanted to play before he retires. It would be one last big publicity tour for him.

This is Peyton Manning - Andrew Luck all over again. Watch the Lakers get Wiggins next year.

Who cares? He trails Mike by 600 points to take the 3rd place all time. He's not leaving it as it is now, no WAY

Look at their styles of play. This injury will affect kobe more than chauncey

But either way Kobe will have to put a lot of work to improve his 3pt shooting. He missed 18 straight at one point this season and he will have to shoot at least 35% once he comes back.

Gregg Popovich certainly doesnt run his vets into the ground. An extra 2-3 mins a game might not seem much. But over 2 seasons or more it can add up to less wear. The main thing is instead of ignoring his body shoulda rested up more.

I wonder if it starts to get talks on nba scheduling less games and all that

kobe will have a lot to deal with after this injury. Slower foot speed, lowered vertical jump, etc etc. He will be mostly a jumpshooter if he ever returns. The injury was inevitable
