That was the system Philly chose to run with that team. Do you recall who they had playing with him? He HAD to score a lot for them to win games.

Anyway, Lin wasn't THAT hot. He made a 3 but he is no Steph Curry in the shooting department lets be honest. We lost to a better team and that's that. Few questionable calls maybe, but giving the ball to Lin was no guarantee.

I like this team but I know it will take time for them to develop as individual players and as a team. People shouldn't get too caught up in someone not getting the last shot. Harden is our franchise player so more often than not, the ball will be in his hands at the end of games to take the shot or make a play. To night he missed the shot. Couple of weeks ago he made it. You win some you lose some. Without him on the team, it's not even a close game.

Preparing for a first round sweep, hoping for at least one victory.

Like I said, someone else besides members in this forum thought that Lin had the hot hand. It's really not that hard to imagine. Feel free to discredit Lin by bagging on Clyde though.

Fu@ckn refs, I truly believe the NBA should implement fines for refs not making right calls, oh wait the NBA is fixed, never mind.

with your logic, other players in this team just need to stand there watching harden play or miss. he will either give you win or lost.

I think you actually helped my argument. All those aforementioned great players had good teammates and they were STILL able to shine and play a great all around game despite the glare of their heralded teammates. D-wade played a balanced game with shaq in the post and facilitated and played great D. Durant has the world’s biggest ball hog and does incredible work off the ball and as a shooter coming off curls. Kobe curtailed his game to shaq and was their go to perimeter stopper and key facilitator. I do agree that the rockets are not a great team and that may put too much pressure on harden, but why can’t he do other things, such as, play off the ball like a traditional shooting guard, or take the task of guarding the other team’s best perimeter player. (btw Lin and Parsons are top 50-60 players). The truly great franchise players play a 2 way game and have all around skills. If we look past stats, it’s simply an eye test, guys like durant, wade, kobe, lebron made you go “wow, that’s a dominant all around player” and it was obvious in their first couple of years. With Harden, I see a good player, a second banana type guy. I get that Harden was a 6th man for a long time but he’s played enough for us to get an idea of his game. Again, he CAN improve but I have my doubts. Also, don’t you find it odd that his teammate, Lin was on a crappy knicks team last year (not much better than the current rockets), dominated with his scoring, playmaking, energy and made everybody better and pushed them into the playoffs with a huge winning streak. Sometimes, a guy just doesn’t have that “it” quality that makes him a true alpha/franchise player. All of you have made excuses about why he HASN’T become a superstar ie. He’s young, he was on OKC for a while etc. but what facts and observations do you have that he WILL become a championship calibre franchise player?

If you guys want to talk about rigged officiating (and I'm not one to complain much) but when the Lakers shoot 30 more free throws than the Warriors, something weird is going on.

The Warriors played the better game but hard to play defense when half of your team has 5 fouls.

that's cause the warriors are putting up jumpers while kobe and the bigs were attacking inside.

Kobe looked to be in real bad shape when he went into locker room... might not matter bow bad the nba wants them in playoffs... but it is Kobe so he could be fine in an hour

I agree I think the premise was incorrect to start with.

A player is more likely to make shots when they are confident, instead of self-doubt. A player is more likely to make shots when they have high energy, instead of being tired. And a player may make more shots when they are highly focused instead of mental lapses. This is likely tied into whether a player is mentally tired or not.

So in a span of a few minutes if someone has made a few shots it is likely by chance. Or on rare occasions he/she might be in an ideal physical and mental 'state'. Thus giving a higher probability and condition to make the next shot. I think a hot hand could be a span of time when all the ideal 'states' coincide.

I look back on times when I've played really well and I remember those moments with alarming detail. I can even recall them right now. That includes points I lost. It's probably because I was very engaged, physically and mentally.

On the other hand I'll have bad days, and I won't even remember what happened 30 seconds after winning or losing a point.

That's how it happens on a lot of times on all levels of basketball. Watch any other team and its the same way. YOU PUT THE BALL IN THE HANDS OF YOUR BEST PLAYER TO MAKE THE PLAY. Why would you give the ball to Parsons, Asik, Beverly, Jones, Smith, even Lin is not that player for us, and ask them to make a play at the end of the game? So yes, the other players stand on the perimeter and create space and get ready for the pass out if Harden passes it to them. They are ROLE players. They know their roles. If you asked them they would let you know Harden is the best player and they want the ball in his hands at the end of games. He won't always make the shot or make the right pass, nobody gets it right every time, but you take your chances with your best player.

I could see if Harden wasn't a very good player and he was out there trying to make plays, but I think he has proven he is more than capable.

I hate to complain, but that was the worst officiated game I may have ever seen.

Terrible calls in a close game really hurt.

When the game is on the line, the refs have Lakers' back.

    Just ask Portland and Sac.
