Agreed on people saying Lin can't create his own shot, its frustrating to watch, his dribble moves are just too 1 dimensional, when he has the ball in his hands with the clock winding down he's usually a deer in headlights.

Straight from the larsv8 school of mental r****dation. Lin has only 40% of his shots assisted.

Well then create your own thread about the previous 3 possessions, Einstein.

I was extremely happy with the final shot Harden got. To me, however, the end doesn't justify the means.

I think our offense is brilliant, I don't see why we can't run it in the clutch. I'd like to see ball movement and finding an open look. Harden is a superstar because he is the best in the league at drawing fouls and a great passer. He is just an above average scorer when you take away the foul calls (which tends to happen at the end.)

I think we'd be better off passing the ball and playing in flow to find a high % shot and keep the defense off balance. James got lucky his defender fell and unlucky to miss a great look.

That's bs, man. Lin could have easily attempted those shots Harden took, but those are not high-percentage shots. As a point guard, the instinct is to create GOOD shots in case you didn't know.

Harden wasn't even looking to pass in any of the last 4 possessions. Sure the last shot was a good one, but he would have taken it even if he had 5 people on him. When not once, not twice, but three times you've failed you should try to do something else on your last possession.

When the game is tied, I'd let your best player (Harden in this case) taking the final shot. It is a favorable situation so it's worth the gamble to play ISO.

On the other hand, if the team is down like tonight or the last Spurs game, draw a play and have whichever shooter is open to take the open shot.

The problem is our offense relies on "good look" aka defensive errors from the opposing team. We are not going to get these looks in the playoffs, so then what do we do next? The players don't know WHERE TO RUN, they stand still, waiting for either Harden or Lin to create, but nobody's open, with 2sec they either pass for a contested shot or shoot a contest shot themselves.

Against a good defense, our offense is stagnant, with too much reliance on the person with the ball. I don't think players are lazy and don't want to cut/slash, I just think they don't know how.

We don't run diversions, or that many complicated sets. Down the stretch we have to hope for BEAST MODE and miraculous shots instead of following easy instructions to set up an open shot.

Sure, we get that luxury. Kinda like your best player being iffy on the few possessions before it, he'll still get the nod for the last shot.

    You're a total idiot

Your best player taking an open shot for the last shot of the game is of course the best shot.

Why not do a poll of your best player taking the last 4 shots going 1-on-3, after not making a FG in the 4th quarter, and his 3 of his 4 FGs in the 3rd quarter came on assists and the other FG came from teammate's dribble penetration then passing it to him to drive into the lane.

That's James Harden in the second half. No FGs made other than assisted or when a opening created by a teammate, going for four 1-on-3 plays in the last 4 possessions.

    Grow a brain.

The way the game was played, he was unlikely to get a foul called for him. Lin didn't get the calls either. Memphis got all the important calls, and the refs gave some give-back calls to Houston that were not material (like when Houston already had the ball, and the call didn't lead to FTs).

Just like that other clown Dreamshook that thinks McHale should get a standing ovation for Harden getting an open 20ft jumper on the last shot when Tony Allen just slipped.

I don't get what was wrong with the other possessions?

PAssing it out to Lin a couple of times and getting fouled twice on two drives...then got a open shot. Ah well, next game.
