Exactly. Rockets should play to win and let whatever happens happen. They shouldn't be afraid of anyone they play. That said it would be like the little kid thinking he can beat the bully. It doesn't mean they won't get their a** kicked
I'd rather the Rockets win out, so we go into the playoffs hot and on a winning streak. May not make a difference, but I'd prefer they didn't go in cold (and overly rested) considering how young the team is.
McHale: "We have a bunch of young guys, so why rest them? I'll play them 40 minutes a game and when they break down I'll say, 'Well, that sort of thing's gonna happen when you play basketball. Feet, knees, whatever. Rub some spit on it, it'll be fine." Maybe not as bad as the Bulls. Hell, even Joakim Noah with bad plantar fascitis was being played 38 mpg----until he couldn't play. Deng put off wrist surgery and often plays 38 mpg. Hey, McHale, it's not just the minutes, it's the style the team plays: Run run run run run run. It makes the body break down. Anyway, too late in the game to change his approach. Thankfully the players seem mostly okay right now, Chandler's leg notwithstanding.
Spurs have 4 games left. Sacramento @LA @Golden States Minnesota I don't see them going worse than 2-2 in these games, which means Denver can't catch up even if they win out.
"Clutch" doesn't want to mention players' names, but someone (I think James, or Lin, or Parsons, maybe even ASIK) said they "WELCOME playing the NUGGS!" I think McHale has these guys confident, and we're going to see James take it up another notch in the playoffs. I hope Lin does, as well, as he'll see the pressure, and hopefully thrive off of it. To Lin it should feel just like NY when "Linsanity" erupted! This team is great at offense, and the D is going to be our X-factor if we aren't controlling the pace in the playoffs when it usually slows down. I really think and have been saying this since the trade that James Harden won the Spurs series for OKC, and other games to even get them to the Finals last year. Reggie finally pointed this out last night in the OKC game that James Harden, "won games single handily for OKC, and Kevin Martin isn't that type of player", Reggie stated during the game. Very true! Can't wait till the playoffs!!
