No. I am talking about the types of shots he takes. Not the shot selection. He has pretty good shot selection.

i would suggest folks who don't know what the difficulty of a PG ending up not getting the ball that much and playing besides a bad D partner look no further than Steve Nash, granted that Harden' no where near Kobe level of ball hogging nor is Steve Nash any good of a defender himself. But that's why the Lakers are struggling for 8th seed despite having Howard.

As for Bev, his defense is legitimately great, if on/off court stats are to be believed he's among the best guard in the entire league .

His offense remains questionable, part of it is him being hesitant to take open shots or aggressively drive, however there have also been games where he did drive and sucked.

if Lin was still playing like November Lin, there is a legit argument that Bev should start, but the truth is in he last 2 month Lin have been really good. since the deadline he has been close to 18 pt per 36 min at .565 TS% In the same span Bev was at 11.2 Pt per 36 and 551 TS%

Lakers played injured most of the season with Nash in and out of the lineup. And he is still out. They had no continuity until now, but when Nash come back in to the lineup, they will have difficulty again. I rather play every playoff team than play the Lakers.

    Beverly's ceiling is Nate Robinson.

He's already better than Nate Robinson.

I'd give it a little more time to make such a conclusion. Last night, Nate Robinson scored 35 points on 18 shots in 33 minutes. Bulls won over the Knicks 118/111.

Top 10? Wow. I just don't see it. Not even close. I'll go with the potential to be a top 30 PG.

He is of course already better than Robinson. A better WS/48 and TS%. Plus, Robinson doesn't play any defense whereas Beverly plays good on-ball D.

his "ceiling"! I may be suffering from a bit of a crush on him, but I don't think people put enough emphasis on defense and i think his shot will continue to improve. Yeah, i feel comfortable saying that if he improves his shot and continues to play incredible defense, he has a chance to be a top 10 PG. He takes really good care of the ball too.

if he could be a 15 ppg guy and play lock down defense, he'd be in the conversation rounding out the top 10 PGs. Right now he averages 12 pts/6.5 dimes per 36 minutes while playing elite defense ...and he's only gonna get better.

Again, i'm not saying he'll be a top 10 PG. I'm just saying that i think that's his ceiling. And when i say a top 10 PG i mean rounding out the top 10. It's certainly not a crazy claim to make.

To compare Nate's defense to Bev is like comparing a SG trying to defend against a PF.

It's not like Nate doesn't play any defense. He and Isaiac Thomas are not physically able to play good defense against guys who are 5" taller. One reason 5'8" guys are never drafted high, no matter how athletic they are.

Bev's ceiling seems more of a Darrell Armstrong

Aruba, I like what you're saying... If I wanted to compare PB to anyone it would be Gary Payton...

Don't shake too hard.. Don't want you to hurt yourself...

Yes the glove... He reminds me of a young GP.. not only how he plays defense, but with the attitude that he has when he plays defense.

Are Rockets fans always this high on backup players? Why don't you guys let the guy do something worth mentioning before comparing him to other players?

he's part of the reason we are where we are right now. have you been watching the games over the last 2 months? He's played quality minutes and perhaps even more importantly, he's played in crunch-time clutch situations. Not your typical backup.

My aspirations for Beverly is to be somewhat like Rondo. Rondo first got his reputation in the NBA as a very tough defensive point guard and got the nickname "one man full court press". Beverly is already close to being that defensive point so he will need to improve on drive and dish to get closer to Rondo's caliber.

There is no reason why his shot won't improve as long as he keeps on working on it.
