Reading through many of the threads in this forum, it is apparent that there are posters who are just like the NY media.

If the facts don't exist, just make **** up and get a rise out of people. The NY media did it to sell more papers / get more web hits. Those types of posters here are just looking to troll / get attention.

Since nothing is perfect, I suppose the perfect white Christian family doesn't exist either.

Thanks to all of those who left kind words. :) Sorry I went AWOL on the thread for a while. I expected people to disagree but I guess I didn't expect to be called stupid. :p

Anyway, I'm glad to know there are others who are both Lin and McHale fans.

I agree with all of this.

Yep. It wasn't like he was asked about the coaching staff. He brought them up. He didn't have to do that. He didn't have to go out of his way to give them credit. And I've seen him do that before as well. Thanks for posting the video.

    Yep.

    I agree.

This this this. I don't understand the people (supposedly fans of Jeremy) who would prefer to suggest that he's disingenuous, a hypocrite, a suck up, a manipulator, a liar or worse rather than accept that Jeremy might actually like and respect his coach. Sheesh! You do realize that branding Jeremy as any or all of those things isn't exactly complimentary, right?

I mean, isn't it possible that he just simply means what he says? Occam's razor and all that....

    Finally...
You sat on the bench with him?!:grin:

Again, thanks for the comments, agreeable and not. ;)

It's one thing to know mentally that McHale is tall, but seeing all those reporters standing next to him...I lost track of what coach was saying and was instead wondering where those little people came from.

Sometimes he is too classy for his own good. He needs to turn into Lowry 2.0 if he ever dreams of becoming a star again, which wont happen mchale cuz this deferring SG type of play lets him get 10ppg/5 assists. I can see him put up 18ppg/9 assists easily on other teams

That was more than diplomacy. Lin went out of his way to laud McHale and the coaching staff.

We all know Lin really wanted to admit that he's to sexy for his cat... but he's too PC.

I don’t doubt that Jeremy, given the choice between being diplomatic and saying something negative about someone, would choose to go the diplomatic way. The thing is, in this instance, he wasn’t asked about the coaching staff. He didn’t have to be diplomatic to avoid saying something negative about them. He brought them up. If he had a problem with the coaching staff and didn’t want to air dirty laundry or whatever, wouldn’t the way more honest way be to just avoid talking about them altogether?

As for the “decent” comment on 60 Minutes, I think Jeremy is always trying to guard against being arrogant, trying to make sure he stays humble. I remember seeing his high school coach interviewed during a Knicks’ game at the Garden during the height of Linsanity. He was told that Jeremy had said in another interview that he’d been arrogant and selfish before injuring his ankle in high school. The coach was visibly stunned by that, saying that Jeremy was being too hard on himself, that he was never arrogant in high school…..

And how is Lowry doing these days?

Jeremy is a third year player -- has been the starting point guard for TWO playoff teams now. I think he's doing OK.

Woooo glad that Mike D'Antoni isn't the coach of the Rockets. Lin would of averaged 40 mpg and be banged up for the playoffs if not worst. McHale sitting Lin in the 4th and keeping his minutes respectable is a good thing.
