According to an April 10, 2013 report by the Christian Post, the suspect stabbed his two victims with a large kitchen knife that had a 14-inch blade. The man who killed his wife over an HIV scare has been identified as 63-year-old Eugene Maraventano of Arizona. His victims are his spouse Janet Maraventano and their 27-year-old son Bryan. Maraventano admitted to stabbing his wife as she slept. He said he killed his wife over an HIV scare and killed their son to protect him from dealing with the aftermath of his father killing his mother. It is believed that Maraventano did not undergo an HIV test himself prior to the murders to confirm his HIV status. Maraventano had availed himself of the services of prostitutes multiple times many years ago while visiting New York on business. He feared that these activities had caused him to contract the HIV virus and he was afraid that he had subsequently infected his wife. Following Thursday's murders, Maraventano attempted suicide several times but failed. He turned himself in to police on Saturday, confessing to killing his wife over the HIV scare.

If he did this THAT many years ago, and never felt the symptoms of being HIV, nor did his wife and 27 YEAR OLD SON, doesn't it stand to reason that they were in fact, NOT HIV positive?? Being HIV positive comes with a truckload of symptoms, most of which are impossible to ignore. What kind of ignorant dumb ass kills his entire family without even so much as a test??
Its actually a lil more twisted. He was only afraid for his wife getting hiv from him. He killed his son to spare him the trauma of finding out his dad killed his mom.
