The top 3 Western teams are just too good.

I'd rather see a highly entertaining and dramatic series against the Thunder, even though we'd certainly lose. It would be great experience for the players too.

I'm all about winning and getting the highest seed we can... but i'd rather face the Spurs than Denver.

Why? Ginobili is out, but Parker should be back. They have experienced veterans, Duncan is playing great, and aside from their stars, they have a roster full of very solid players (Leonard, Diaw, Splitter, Green, Jackson, Neal). And if that's not enough, they have a much better half-court offense, and they'll force us to play at a slower pace.

On the other hand, Denver is missing its 2 best players, and their only point guard is 37 years old.

So how exactly are the Spurs a better matchup for us?

if we want to avoid the Denver, we can only stay at the seventh seed.

Another reason I would rather play OKC...is to be able to play against hands down the best Western conference team...play them hard...and see what piece would help us compete better...bc there is no reason why they still won't be good next year...

But looks like if i had a choice playing the Spurs or Denver, i would chose Denver...the Spurs still have the best postseason coach(even with Manu out) ...and that series wouldnt even be close...I'd rather go after Denver...

Stay at 7th and hope that it is the Spurs. Parker will get his. Asik has shown he can defend much better against a traditional big like Duncan. Ginobilli is not healthy.

If the Spurs' role players do not show up (as in the case for the past 2 playoffs), we stand a good chance to advance against them.

G-State lost so Rockets are only .5 games behind! A win against Memphis and a G-Spot loss and we take the 6th seed!

Spurs are a better match up than Denver for one reason. Omer. Omer will DIE playing big minutes in that Denver altitude & the Rockets won't win if we have Omer not playing at his best & if he isn't playing as many minutes as possible. We don't stand a chance against the Spurs but we stand even less of a chance in Denver.

Pretty much any team including the Clippers would be a more favorable match up then going against Denver. I do sort of want the 6th seed just to spit Golden State but not enough to want to face Denver.

Denver isn't a great road team though.

I think GS will one 1 of 3 remaining games and HOU will win 2 of 4 remaining games, so the teams will finish tied and Rockets will win the tiebreaker and get the 6th seed.

Denver owns the tiebreaker vs. Memphis and Clippers, so if they will 3 of 4 remaining games they will be the 3rd seed even if Memphis wins all 4 remaining games.

The Clippers aren't going to be the 3rd seed because Denver will have to lose 3 of their remaining 4 games.

If any of this is wrong please correct me. Thanks

    It's looking like:

    Rockets vs. Nuggets

I don't think starting Greg Smith at the 4 is the best choice against them. I think they will go back to Delfino.

Maybe beause we beat them once and they still want to see Harden do good.

Denver is a winnable series imo

Will I pick us to win it? No but they are a poor transition defensive team and if we get hot for about a week from the three point line who knows

Heck lets go for sixth. I thought about seventh seed and facing San Antonio but I would rather have a higher seed. Really unlikely but would if Golden State somehow beat San Antonio and we met Golden State in second round? We would have home court. I just think it's smarter to always shoot for a higher seed.

7th and hope the Spurs finish 2nd. We ride Harden like crazy, so our best bet would be to play against a team he typically dominates.

Put Asik on Duncan and just hope that Parker doesn't embarrass Lin and Beverly too bad.

I heard Rosas say this morning that Morey likes the matchup against Denver based on Playoff experience. That's an interesting thought. OKC and the Spurs know what to expect and are tested. This Nuggets team is a bit like ours in regard to playoff experience.

Denver is a great athletic team, but still not better than the spurs! Their 2 best scorers are injured. Even if they have won big in the last game, I am sure that well rested Lin, Harden, Parsons and Asik + PF will beat them.
