http://www.eurohoops.net/2013/04/flopping/22050 After leaving Olympiacos, Joey Dorsey gave his share of interviews – you can read the one in Eurohoops here – but this time, what he said in the Greek basketball magazine, “All Star Basket”, raised some eyebrows. Dorsey accused Vassilis Spanoulis for lack of respect: “For the first time in my career, I saw a teammate deciding my role on the team. How many touches I would have in the offense, if I should have the ball and all that. That’s the job of the coach. He is the one who should say to his players what to do. Spanoulis said to me: “Joey just play defense and don’t worry about getting the ball”. I respect all my teammates, but that was a lack of respect towards me. When I respect someone, I expect the same respect in return. Maybe my reaction wasn’t the proper one and it’s true that I paid for it, because after that I couldn’t continue to play for the Euroleague champions. But the reason behind all that was wrong”.
I remember reading about Houston trying to get Dorsey back a couple times after they traded him away. I guess he wouldn't be a bad 9th/10th man to have. Decent rebounder and was Euro League DPOY last season, I think. Maybe he's better than he was back in the days. Other players, including Rockets players, who didn't make it in the NBA initially have had NBA success after coming back from Europe.
When I skimmed over the title of this thread I read, "Joey Dorsey does not look like... Vassilis Spanoulis" ... and I thought, we'll this is out-of-the-box thinking.
