spurs need the offseason to get healthy. manu is banged up n tony's ankle is pretty bad. we can take the spurs. Denver will shred us with their uptempo style.
you know what? Manu is always banged up. Tony also. These guys are old guys, they will need the rest before going hard in the playoffs. Even with a banged up body, Manu was still able to put up monster numbers. You have 3 superstars on that team as opposed to our one and half (Lin). They have paid their dues and the refs will make the correct calls for them. Denver is fair game, as long as we shoot efficiently.
I'd take the Nuggets. Spurs are chillin for playoffs and have imo the best coach in the game. Who will out game plan us. The Thunder are way more talented. A bunch of playoff experience too for a young team. The Nuggets have the best chance to breakdown mentally. While I'm not super excited about this matchup, I think it is our best chance. I hope they keep winning at home till the playoffs, and it stems to a little over confidence. That would be the Rockets best chance if they can pounce on that.
You know I find it funny that people always discount the Spurs and every time they surprise them people's opinions still stays the same. For all we know Parker could be just rested as a precaution and come out with guns blazing in the playoffs. Spurs with Parker is a very different animal IMHO. With Denver we won't win the series but I bet we would at least keep home court twice and take it to 6 games (optimistic I know). All that being said, screw it. OKC, Spurs, Clips or Nuggets. Who the hell cares? We can beat them all!
especially if harden gets hot...it wil be game over for our opponents... and i woudnt be surprised if he gets hot...he IS a superstar after all
I just don't feel comfortable about Harden's ability to stay hot with Iguadola and Brewer smothering him. Maybe he has a 'Playoffs' gene we've only seen glimpses of that he can tap into, but I just don't know if he can take a beating the whole series. We're going to need Parsons and Lin to step up, along with the bench if we hope to outduel the Nuggets at our own game.
I have never seen Corey Brewer do anything to 'stop' Harden. Unless you mean a stoppage in play by sending him to the charity stripe. But Iguodala... oh boy... The Spurs seem to have trouble trying to contain Harden and to a lesser extent Lin whereas the Nuggets flourish in a race and have the tools to shut us down. Harden played out of his mind in the win over OKC but in the other two games they shut him down pretty hard. Not a fan of facing Sefolosha, Durant & Ibaka on the defensive end.
For some reason i fear the nuggets the most. Just get this feeling of inevitability against them this year. OKC would be great viewing though.
Right now I want to play in order: Spurs: Age and injuries are mounting, losing steam, Lakers wrecking their pysche Nuggets: Hot team, they will not go 8-0 against Rockets, home record Thunder: Battle hardened If playoffs started in 2 weeks: Nuggets: Lost 6 1st round series since Karl became Nuggets coach, they will go 8-0 against Rockets, bad road team Spurs: Age will help them get calls, Popovich magic, home court Thunder: Battle hardened
