That's what I thought. What was Beverley doing? The buzzer had sounded. Even if he got a clean tip in, it wouldn't have been counted. But if he did an offensive interference, the shot would have been ruined. Same thing can be said about O'Neal. Why would he want to hit the ball? There was no time for the Rockets to get an offensive rebound. And if the ball goes in, it goes in. This is one of the "what were they thinking?" moments.
I think this is more of a "making a split second decision" moment. Beverly is planning on going for a tip well before the buzzer, but it sounded during his gather. You can actually see him jerk his hand away from the basket after the buzzer sounds (and he never touches the net, for that matter). No idea what the hell O'Neal was thinking. I can only assume his thought process was to try and prevent a tip in, but didn't stop himself after time ran out.
Suns fans are not bitter at all, this loss actually helped them position better for the lottery. http://valleyofthesuns.com/2013/04/...-goaltends-as-rockets-stun-the-suns/#comments
Yes ,most of us (suns fans) are not bitter, our guys fought hard ,although they still lose ( better lottery spot). It'll be different when we are competing tho  I still feel guilty after rooting for rockets lol .. guess they become my 2nd fav team .Good luck , hope General Harden will command his troops to destoy them Remember, grand scene of the titanic XD
I disagree. Patrick was already in motion for a last second tip attempt. You see this all over the league. He was way above the rim and had a better shot at the ball than O'Neal but he pulled his hands back. He knew it was still in the cylinder. His actions forced O'Neal to instinctively swat the ball away. Most likely that wasn't premeditated by Patrick but if not for his effort O'Neal probably doesn't touch that ball that early. I think Beverly deserves credit here.
