He's not playing because the playoff schedule is too hectic, and he's afraid it would trigger his anxiety. Knowing this, the question I have is why on Earth did he decide to pursue basketball as a form of income? He knew ALL of the ramifications this lifestyle could potentially have on his mental health, and yet he decided to take this path anyways. For all the talk of #protocol and #transparency that he pushes, where's his?? Where does he EVER talk about the responsibility that HE bears to the people that have given him a chance to pursue his dream? It's become downright sickening to watch him try and manipulate the system over and over again, and it's even more sickening that there are plenty of media outlets willing to give him a microphone for his charade.
one thing i've learned about Royce White that has nothing to do with his anxiety disorder: He's a slacker. He's not a hard worker and he's not interested in staying in peak physical shape, or dedicated to improving his craft as a professional basketball player. This was evident by his lack of willingness to practice at all during his hiatus from the team, and the fact that he looked like a before-picture in an ad for nutrisystem when he came back.
the answer is simple: guaranteed money. It certainly isn't his passion for the game. That much is very clear. He's not even willing to work for it. He clearly thinks he's better than he really is.
I understand the urge to immediately blame this on White, as that urge has tended to be spot on this season. But maybe the organization just decided that he wasn't worth it during the D-League playoffs. I would have. We don't have that info, so maybe we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Also, are his rebound numbers in the article wrong? Or is the D-League's stat page wrong? It has him at under 6 boards a game.
White isn't worth a 2nd round ATM, cut him and let him become someone else's nightmare. #****offroyce
We are stuck with him for another year. I think the Rockets are just going to let him do what he wants and then release him barring some incredible turnaround. Fact they are not saying anything probably indicates they have stopped caring. I don't necessarily see him as a con man or that he is intentionally trying to be difficult. But I also don't see how he can survive in the NBA if the dleague is this much of a problem.
Royce is going to make what, about 7 million from his rookie deal? Sounds like a nice way to start your career. He will be out of the league after but if he's smart with his money he can live a very nice life with the money he stole from Les.
Thia guy was a great draft pick. So worth the first round pick. Also I dont mean to be that person, but shouldnt this be in the RGV section?
It irks me that we have a team full of 2nd round picks/undrafted guys working their butts off to prove themselves and we use a first pick on a guy who's lazy with a huge ego and sense of entitlement. At this point I'm just waiting for his rookie contract to be up.
This is what I expect to happen. We'll make a trade of several guys for several other guys, and White will be thrown in and then cut by the receiving team.
Royce knock a chick up on his RV 5th child on the way? http://bossip.com/756073/dirty-dog-diaries-nba-baller-royce-white-blocks-5th-baby-mama-on-twitter-after-knocking-her-up-in-an-rv-and-asking-for-abortion/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+bossiprss+%28Bossip.com%29
Contrast White to Terrance Jones. Jones applied himself in the D-League, and now he has a spot in the rotation.
White has very serious mental problems and we are stuck with him. I really don't hold out any hope at this point that he will ever play for the Rockets. I think the Rockets should just release him since he is just going to be a distraction going forward. Lets just move on.
