I know it's a rhetorical ? but I would say she gets a lot of screen time because: (a) Exotic looks + accents = stiffies for the crew (b) Her scenes are cheap to shoot; helps the budget (c) Her story arc with Tyrion, Spoiler which, unfortunately, won't get dramatic for awhile (next season, probably) The ADD might explain it. It takes patience and it won't all resolve for years. It's a historical fantasy soap opera. My wife mostly likes it but she tends to prefer a show that resolves its story each week. But the action does pick up, so hang in there.
Much like the books, each season starts a little slow, builds then at the 3/4 mark is so damn good you can't wait. I see this season playing out the same way. There is so much going on it's hard for them to fit it all in. I agree season needs to be longer. And as a book reader GRRM needs to writer faster... come on now lets get with it.
He said the last two books could be 1,500 pages each. Doesn't make sense to me. First off, as much as I like the books, his editor needs a firmer hand, or a tighter leash (he could squeeze each book down by 1/10 at least and not lose any effectiveness). But the books' success precludes much interference from the editors, I guess. So, why does he stay married to the 1,500 pp. thing and two more books (seven in all)? Release four books, each at 750 pages. The publisher will split each book in two anyway: 1500 pages becomes unwieldy and expensive. And the TV show tends to squeeze in about 700 some-odd pages per season anyway, so....
You're gonna be waiting awhile. A few of the storylines will meet up, but then new ones will begin. And some just end completely. I think book 3 was probably the worst about having a large number of storylines. I often forgot what had happened in a character's previous chapter and would have to go back to remind myself. Despite that, it was still the best book I've ever read.
I thought this was pretty cool, the characters doing human things. http://www.buzzfeed.com/lyapalater/game-of-thrones-actors-doing-normal-stuff-is-so-weird
there is too much filler in Feast of crows and Dance with Dragons. I skipped most of the Sansa chapters and some of those other irrelevant people. Also, he is way too descriptive when it comes to food and the erotic scenes (some of them are really uncfomrtable and explicit).
Why do people like Belwas so much, anyway? He's such a minor character and not even that entertaining in the books. I'm angrier at the fact that they still haven't introduced Val or Dalla in the show.
Belwas is part of Daenarys's council and makes her conquest all the more epic. He may not have too big of a role but he is a very enjoyable character.
Belwas is a pretty entertaining minor character IMO. I agree about Val and Dalla. I don't like the choices they've made in the Jon Snow and the Free Folk storyline. I really dislike the guy they chose to be Mance.
I like the long books. More attention to detail that immerses you into the story. With sooo many different stories to cover, a 1500 page book is a plus in my opinion.
I think she is one of my least favorite characters on the show. She has been pretty significantly changed and I'm not a fan of the actress in this role.
Here's an example of her acting and reading her lines. I kinda feel bad for her. Not sure if she knows how bad her acting is.
