So, maybe this is because I've never read the books, but even so, the premier has felt so blah. Nothing happens. That's the problem with so many story lines. Not enough time to hash it out and it feels way too segmented.

It's how I've felt throughout season two. Some interesting parts here and there but many very dull stories that feel like they're leading nowhere. I hope it'll pick up eventually, but it seems like it's just becoming more characters meaning more storylines meaning more convoluted plots.

I don't feel the same enjoyment as you book readers have. And the show isn't making itself appealing to a casual viewer like me. I'll probably give this season a full whirl anyway, since there's nothing to really watch in the spring season.

Even if you're just saying that to make all us non book readers feel better... Thanks.

I am not saying you are wrong since I don't know what the show is like for a non-reader, but the ratings have gone way up so I am not sure your sentiment is in the majority. That being said, these first two episodes have been mostly walking and talking. By all accounts, that should change from here on out.

Even good for those that have read the books.

I don't doubt that the ratings have gone up. Season 1 was pretty strong. I felt there was a more centralized plot to season 1. A strong season 1 with many hardcore fans yielded lots of word of mouth and new book readers, who have again spread more praise for the show following season 2.

If you read my comments in the season 2 thread, though, I have strongly voiced a displeasure of the Dany and Jon Snow storylines. They felt way too isolated from the main plot, which I felt was the war on the Lannisters.

If you're asking me if I like that show, I gave it 5 episodes before I stopped watching it. Tried it based on recommendations and acclaim, but found myself bashing my head after every episode wondering why I wasted my time on a senseless plot. And no, I don't watch Downton Abbey either.

Liked it, finally got to see Jojen and Meerah. I haven't read the books in a while but is thoros of meer with The Lightning Lord (berric dondarian)? Dude is probably my favorite character and will be most's by the time this season is over. I remember watching the first season and he was i nthere for like 2 seconds when Ned was temporarily King. They also alluded to the fact by rumors going around in Kings Landing that "He can't die" for those that don't remember.

Beric Dondarrion (who has a different actor now then from brief appearance in first season) and Thoros of Myr are different people. I don't think Thoros and Dondarion's relationship has been explained in show yet so will spoiler:
Thoros is the one that resurrects Beric, using the powers of the Red God that he worships. Thoros is in the Brotherhood of Banners.

haven't read the books and love everything about the entire universe of Game Of Thrones on HBO and everything they have shown in seasons 1, 2 and the first 2 episodes of season 3

Brotherhood WITHOUT Banners. They mentioned that much in the last episode.

As much as a hated character. Jack Gleeson is playing Joffrey Baratheon perfectly. Such a solid actor. I'm totally in love with Natalie Dormer. How the **** this can't act pornstar Shae getting so much screen time? Is she blowing the writer(s)? My god. Her acting is just terrible. I'm still so damn sad the show is too short and they are cramping just to much in one hour. They need 13 episodes not 10.

I'm in the same boat, non book reader and I just love the show. I've rewatched the first 2 seasons various times and have really enjoyed the start to this one. Keep meaning to start reading the books but just haven't had time.

If you are short on time to read the books, the audio books can be a good option, especially if you have a daily commute.

I don't read novels very often and by that I mean NEVER! I read all 5 of these books cover to cover and was NOT disappointed. It was awesome. You won't be disappointed. In fact, I think if you watch this show and enjoy it yet you still decide not to read the books, you are doing yourself a tremendous disservice. The show is really good, but the books are even better and way more detailed. Do yourself a favor and go pick one up today. You won't want to put it down and you'll thank me later.

The way the last book played out still gets me excited every time I think about it. I can't wait for the next one. So many exciting things unfolding with so many of the characters we've been following. It was a masterpiece.

As a non book reader, I'm pretty excited about the point(s) where all these storylines meet.

That's my biggest complaint. I just fail to see how any of these storylines are going to mesh together, especially after 2 full seasons. With an A, B, C, D, E, F, etc. plots for a 1 hour show, it feels too fragmented and isolated.

I'm glad that you guys like the show, but maybe I'm too ADD for it.

I don't doubt it at all, I've just got to find the time to read the actual books or listen to the audio books, hopefully soon.
