http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/e...the-2013-xander-awards-starring-dwight-howard It's a joke that we don't have MIP in the top 5 and Morey is 3rd in executives. So ESPN isn't the only company that gets these things completely wrong, huh? Just some lighthearted material in between Gamedays.
Glen Grunwald from Knicks is on top of the list for GM of the year? Are you kidding me? People thought he was the worst not long ago.
wrong forum. mchale has the youngest team in the league at the 7 slot in the brutal west and isn't in the top five for coach of the year? j hard went from 17 4 and 4 to 26 5 and 6 while leading the youngest team in the nba to the playoffs and isn't in the top 5 for mip or mvp? kobe is 5th for mvp, lololololololol.
Sorry if its in the wrong forum, I figured since it was lack of rockets, that it should be here. Please move if wrong!!
what a bunch of dorks. they have kobe, who is going to miss the playoffs as an mvp candidate and completely leave out Harden.
What? Asik is not in the conversation for defensive player? Rockets will be horrible if no Asik this year. More so than without Harden. Yes I said it. Asik has been more valuable this year than Harden. Without any help from the 4, Asik had to do every thing by himself.
Grunwald... i like how the Marcus Camby signing is listed as a positive. 13 mil / 3 years. 250 total minutes this season. $18,000 per minute. Lets give Executive of the Year!!! Ujiri is a deserving candidate, he just silently keeps delivering. But I think Morey is the Executive this year. It's a shame that one of these two guys won't get the award, both of them are very good and deserving.
Its not thanks to Mchale we're at the 7th spot. Like Ive been saying, our players have a ton of potential that can get deep into playoffs but our coach has been holding them back with his below average coaching. I honestly think we could have made 6th or higher if we had an average level coach
I'm Indiana fan but still, at the risk of looking biased, i have to sigh. It's ridiculous that someone would build these lists and wouldn't give a mention to Indiana at either DPOY or Coach categories.
like him or not, we're running his system. when's the last time the youngest team in the league made the playoffs? he might not be the best coach, but results are results. he should at least be mentioned.
he didn't sign him to that, walsh did. That Knicks team has been up and down all year, though. I doubt he gets exec of the year, though. It's gonna be Ujiri or Morey. Both are great candidates, but I think the overall shocking nature of the Harden trade, Robinson trade and the emergence of Asik tilts it in Morey's favor.
agree on COTY, not DPOY. That Indiana team was middle of the pack defensively the past two years, and made a HUGE leap this year. At first, I thought it was because they play so many games against a lot of bad opponents in the east, but they manhandle solid offensive teams in the WC too (LAC and HOU being the most recent examples).
