Yep. Our last 5 games are all against teams we've lost to. A loss to PHX at such a crucial time could put this team into a failspin.
Really, to get eliminated ALL of the following would need to happen... Rockets go 0-5 (43-39) Utah goes 3-1 (44-38, Rockets have tie breaker) Lakers go 4-1 if they lose to the Rockets in the last game, OR go 3-2 AND win the last game against the Rockets Utah's schedule - OKC, Minn, @Minn, @Memphis Laker's schedule - NOH, @Por, GSW, SAS, Hou Rockets schedule - Pho, Memphis, Sac, @Pho, @LAL Sorry, I just don't see it as likely even IF the Rockets completely melt down and lose all 5 remaining games (which isn't likely). If the Rockets win ONE game of 5, Utah AND the Lakers would have to basically run the table to shut out Houston.
In a game or two, anyone can step up and have a big game for injured star, but in a long 7 game series, loss of Gallo and possibly Lawson will make a big difference. I am hoping Rockets can get the 6th, and get Denver. I dont think the odds of beating the clippers or memphis, OKC or spurs are any better. With the exception of Spurs, that's if Parker and Manu are both out, then I'd take the spurs.
I want relevancy. I just hope we don't play Denver or Memphis. In those series, whether we win or lose I don't think the country will pay much attention to us. And I also believe they give us matchup problems that make them just as tough for us to beat as the top 2 teams. If the Rockets make any kind of noise again SAS, OKC or LAC, you're gonna hear how dangerous this team is and how well set up they are for the future. I'm hoping somehow the Nuggets lose 2 games (1 against SAS and 1 against DAL/POR/MIL and the Clips win out. (Tiebreaker goes to a division winner over head-to-head record) Everyone would watch a Rockets/Clippers series (only a matchup with OKC would be more relevant nationally) and I think we match up better against them then anyone else.
I actually hope the Rockets and Jazz win enough games before that time to make that last game irrelevant. With your playoffs fate down to the last day is too nerve wrecking, both for players and fans.
if we are racing to 6, then I am also watching Denver and Memphis in their last few games to see where we would stand. I love this last week! so many scenarios with teams facing each other and the possibility of eliminating each other or playoff matchups on the line. OKC, MEM, and Houston will play a big part in teams either getting eliminated or advancing, while we are still trying to get in there in the first place. very exciting
It's fun time in Houston once again.. Texans and Rockets/ it feels good bro.. The Astros/Aeros/Dynamo I wish I have the time to support those teams too but right now it's Red Nation baby!!!
I'd rather play OKC because I'm sure that every game will be in prime time. If we get the Nuggets that series will likely be played on NBA.TV in it's entirety.
Relax, if we play the shorthanded Nuggets and play to our potential, we can have all the primetime games we want against OKC...in the second round!
An OKC matchup would be more exciting in the first round, but I'd rather see us play memphis or denver since we have a fighting chance. I just hope we don't blow these last few games and end up as the 8th seed lol.
It's obvious we don't want to face a team has a player that can shut down Harden every single time. Nuggets is on top of that list. We are 0-4 against them for a reason. I much rather us facing Spurs or Thunder.
1) Win tonight's game first. 2) Hope to hit the Spurs or Thunder instead of the Nuggets, if we make it to the playoffs.
0-4 against the Nuggets who have run us out every single time, no matter who is suited up for them? NO THANK YOU.
