You don't think he puts his body on the line drawing all of those fouls and risking hard contact or unpredictably hard falls? Those injuries add up. Don't fool yourself into thinking the team isn't where it's at without Harden and the impact he's played on the Rockets surprise success. He breaks down defenses and gives his teammates looks that encourage them to pass more. How the team plays starts with the best player, and if he isn't sharing or buying into the offense, then that's where 20 other teams are at right now. Is there room for improvement? Of course, but stupid silly points like above get at the heart of why you're likely a Lin fan who doesn't really get it.

Just because Harden shoots a good % on ISOs doesn't mean it's not better basketball to use the full 24 shot clock to try to find an even better shot will ball movement first b4 going to Harden.
Also it isn't necessarily a great sign if Harden is always being double teamed (I don't think this is actually happening, teams just show the double / ball pressure a lot). If other players are established in the offense and then Harden is more free to go 1 on 1, that is good too. It's unfortunate the Rockets don't have more reliable 3 pt shooters - i.e. if Harden is doubled and it leads to an open corner 3 for D-Mo, that's only OK.

It's funny too me how we FINALLY get a really good player to build around and people still complain and whine about the role players not getting more shots and touches. If you really believe we would be a better team letting our role players get just as many shots and touches as Harden you are very foolish. Harden is not perfect and his overall game will continue to develop. Just like every other star player has gone through. They learn to play better defense over time. It's his first year in a leader role.
Harden is the best sg in the league. I guess what I don't like about his game is that he's not the best player in the league. What a scrub.
but dont you think if given enough touches and shots those role players would also develop to play even better defense and offense perhaps someone of them can become new superstar by going through what harden has gone through...? now aint i brilliant? and guess what ? harden would also flourish and score even more in teamball system because his ofense is too predictable in isoball... why do i have a funny feeling that i schooled you a bit?:grin:
It's neither stupid, nor silly to point out or discuss a player's limitations. Harden is the best scorer on the team and one of the best scorers in the NBA. His influence on the Rocket's success is of course impossible to deny. But he is certainly not the best Point Guard on the team. And he has a long way to go as far as his leadership skills are concerned. I don't think this is stupid or silly but you are as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. It's very easy to be struck by Harden's stardom and declare him the defacto leader. That's not good for the Rockets. As I've said before, being the best offensive player does not necessarily make you the best leader. A good/strong leader is vital to any team that wants to win a championship as much as an elite scorer is. Melo is the best scorer on the knicks, but Tyson and Kidd are the only guys with true leadership ability on that team, whether the management has the sense to see that or not is another matter.
REPPED, so who should be leader? btw i like Hardens character and personality and i think he is a great player with ceiling to be one of the best of all times but a lot of things depend on the management cause he is player or employee under contract and he must play as MChale or Morey command him... what is needed the most definitely is a decent system (or chaos:grin where hardens offensive capability will be optimaly used and expressed... his iso is boring and predictable everybody and their mothers know whats hes gonna do when he gets the ball...
