So Kobe is an adequate defender? Go back to Lakersground. The game is on...

    Stats on Kobe this year:

    FGA/game = 25 or more, Lakers are 3-11

    FGA/game = 15 or less, Lakers are 15-3

    FGA/game - 12 or less, Lakers are 7-0

Kobe is 34 years old of course he can't stay in front of guys as well he could before. But when you watch him play you can tell he's putting effort on that side. Harden on the other hand does not. If Harden just put the same effort on the offensive side of ball as the defensive it could be a star. But right now he's not.

Sounds like some lame excuses to me. When I watch, I see Nash puts in more effort than Kobe and he is what? 39 years old??

Please don't give double standard because you are a Lakers fan. Kobe is on a $30M contract for God sake!

I mean Kobe is constantly compared to MJ. Was MJ as bad as Kobe on D when he was 34??

90% of the people here have never watched an NBA basketball game outside of the Rockets. So don't expect them to understand any references to any players or games outside the Rockets this season.

There are people here who believe that Harden is better than Tim Duncan, Manu and Parker. There are people here who vehemently believe Harden is the #1 SG in the NBA.

There have been lots of SGs that have had 1 great season - Kevin Martin did. Funny thing is, I guarantee if you started a thread and asked "Who's better Vince Carter in his 3rd/4th season or James Harden in his 3rd/4th season", 100% of the people here would say "James Harden" because 0% of them ever watched Vince during his Raptors days.

What's funny is Harden's a good player. An All-star this year. But people here overrated him like crazy because they never actually #watchbasketball.

Stop trolling! Go and watch the Lakers. The game is on.

BTW, they are losing by 4 and fighting tooth and nail for the last spot of playoffs.

When did I say Kobe is better than MJ or even equal? I just said Kobe at least puts effort on the defensive side of the ball.

You brought up an MJ vs Kobe comparison out of nowhere...

Anyway I don't think you can compare Harden's and Kobe's defense for the fact that Harden is supposedly in his prime while Kobe was thinking about retiring next season.

Harden is the best offense player on the Rockets hands down. However, until he improves his defense, I'd say Parson is a better overall player because he's balanced on both offense and defense.

Is that right,,,lets go back to the old days then...Isiah Thomas was a Superstar right,,,now how good of defender was he????
Dominique Wilkins, Karl Malone, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, John Stockton, and a host of other top 50 greats were Superstars but wasnt great on defense...So your definition of what a Superstar is way off base here... You want to go even further, Calvin Murphy, Dr.J, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and the list goes on ,,,they wasnt good on the defensive end either...lol
