    Totally agree.

A true superstar must be the leader of his team and he has to leader by example. Defense is dirty work and hard to do. If you don't put efforts on defense, you will not earn full respect from your team mates. It is exactly the same in any work environments.

He's effective down low for someone who doesn't get that many looks down low. In the paint, he's better from all 4 quadrants than Asik.

When you look at how effective he is from the right block, the fact that the team would rather have Harden iso and jack a 3 early in the clock or have DMo stand in the corner is dumb.

Morey can say whatever he wants about advance stats. Fact is, the Spurs post-up, take mid-range Js and have 4 Championships, Morey has 0. /End

Just out of curiosity (I don't know if you have said it already), but who in your opinion is the best player and why?

I agree that Harden has to put more effort on D but I don't expect him to be a good defender. He just needs to be average. There are many all time greats like Magic and Bird who were decent but not great defenders.

Honestly, I think a matchup with Denver might not be all that bad.

We lost cause it was b2b and Asik and Harden were gassed.

I imagine in the playoffs with Parsons back and Asik and Harden just playing their average game we would have a much better result against them.

That and I would love it if we could shut up their announcers in the playoffs!

Lol, please don't post on this board anymore.

Denver commentators are the worst in the league. Glad I missed this game so I didn't have to hear their crap.

His midrange jumper has been great lots of times. It seemed like he wasn't being aggressive tonight.

Our whole team's defense sucks. Harden is average on our team in terms of defense.

Anyway, for the game analysis, fortunately I wasn't able to catch the game. But a couple of things jump out at me from the stat sheet. Firstly, Harden obviously had an off shooting night. But he only took 10 shots? To me that says he wasn't being aggressive enough. Just one of those games where he doesn't seem into it?

Jeremy had a good game seemingly. Looking at the stats, we played just fine offensively. But how the hell do we give up 38 and 39 points in back to back quarters?! That's where the game was lost fellas. Our effort on the defensive end wasn't there tonight. What a horrible outing defensive. And DMo with 4 TO's? He must have been sucking it up out there as usual. This guy shouldn't see the floor.

Yeah I know harden is the best player (no question about that), but I'm curious about his opinion since he says harden isn't the best. He may just be trolling though....

Rockets are not going to get very far by just trying to outscore the other team. They need to learn to lock down on defense. McHale does not seem to understand this.

You don't beat a team like the Nuggets by outrunning them, they are way too fast, and they will outrun you. Need to slow things down, play good half court offense and defense.

Isn't it still a little vauge though to use the dictionary term? We only define best in terms of other ordinary day language words like excellent, effective, or desirable, so it's not really clear cut true or false still qnd the definition is not fundamental but relies on other unclear terms.

I mean shoudn't we try to quantify the term best with something more numerical so that we can say when x has the most of something, x is the best. Like x has the highest +/- so x is the best player. Because if we don't wouldn't we not able to tell whether the premise is true or false?

Sorry to be nit picky I'm taking a logic class atm this is really helping me.

Defense is a foreign concept to the Rockets.

I guess you could say they're still learning? Ha.

Screw D'Antoni/McHale ball! Bring back Van Gundy ball! ; )

    You are too stubborn.

Harden is the best Rockets. He carries this team more often than not.

The question is if he is a true superstar comparing to other elite players in the league.

At this moment I think he is no better than Carmelo, and I don't consider Carmelo is elite.

Disagree. They have been playing some solid defense before tonight. I think the defense has improved a lot. It's just that Asik was gassed and his impact on our D is important.

If you asked any of the Rockets players or personnel who the best player is, do you think any of them would even hesitate to say anyone other than Harden?

Best is ordinal. The only thing cardinal numbers do is make it easier to rank. We pretty much know that that some players are good and some are ****. There's no need to actually calculate ranking since we already know the existence of a gradation of better to worse implies the existence of a best.

While taking a logic class, please don't forget common sense.

There is a best member in most teams. There is a best player in the Rockets team. Everybody knows Harden is the one except the one who is taking logic classes.

I think harden might not say he is the best
