I'm telling you guys, as far as our pg's go, Beverley is a better fit next to Harden.

    More Harden hater crap? Unbelievable.

I am just thankful that it seems McHale has figured out that Bev and Lin can play in the backcourt together and that it appears he is locking down the 1 and 2 positions with Harden/Lin/Beverley.

The next adjustment I am looking for is to see McHale run the tiny backcourt (if you call Bev/Lin tiny) with Harden at the 3 and Asik and Parsons. I am going to continue to beat the drum that the 4 guys that should be on the floor in crunch time are Lin/Harden/Parsons/Asik with the 5th spot being determined by matchups including the possibiity of having Beveley in there with Lin and moving Parsons to the 4 and with the one additional caveat that if there is a ball stoppage that Smith replaces Asik for offensive purposes...some of the time. I am also covinced that the backcourt minutes should be largely consumed by Harden/Lin/Beverley. They should play 90 or more of those 96 minutes except in blowouts where we can get Anderson some run.

All 3 guys, Harden/Lin/Beverley, are simply playing their collective butts off. Can't say enough good things about each one of them. In last night's game when Harden went to the bench and it was Lin/Beverley out there, we immediately went on a huge spurt. Beverley and Lin were flat mowing down Portlands backcourt defensively, chasing, closing out, just totally hounding the devil out of them. Of course Portland doesn't have much of a bench but neither do most teams. I think Bev/Lin is a great combo against practically any team's backup backcourt including San Antonio, etc.

Beverley, in my opinion, is one of the best small defenders in the league and he's only been playing, what, 40 games or so? He's tenacious, he's quick, he's got length and quicks in combination to give even the quickest guys in the league fits. And dude is E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E! Simply cannot say enough good things about him. And I'm not even talking about his unselfish play on the offensive end. That one break where he brought the ball down and threw it to Lin in the corner, cut to the bucket, and Lin immediately fed it back to him for the layin....sensational, great teamwork and unselfish play by both guys.

If I were McHale I would just rotate these 3 guys at the 2 backcourt spots until the game was decided. I see no reason to really play anybody else unless there is an injury.

And once again, I really feel like our closing lineup for games that are hanging in the balance should be

    Beverley
    Lin
    Harden
    Asik
    Parsons

This would only make sense if Harden plays SF, then what about Parsons? Parsons is a waste on the bench. Although there is good merit that Lin/ Bev could be a good combo as guards considering both speeds.

I wouldn't trade Chandler. I would just distribute the minutes a little bit more evenly between the 3 guards

Basketball is very dynamic, no combination of players can be considered best for all possible situations. You'd have to consider many other things, like the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents, who else will be working with your selected duo, health and conditioning (which varies day to day), behavior of the refs (despite what people say, sometimes some players just seem to clash with some refs) etc.

Generally, you will be better off banking on your star players

Bev needs to get at least 30 minutes every game. Harden could use a couple extra minutes of rest. Bev, Lin and harden should always be on the court in crunch time. Beverly reminds me of bobby jackson.

Nice post. It's groovy seeing the team have so much fun out there on the court. That ended up literally being a laugher! :-D-

One thing I'd like to see would be Anderson's minutes increased. He should take some of Harden's minutes at the 2 (and McHale is starting to do that) so James will be rested for the playoffs, and he can do the same at the 3 spot, depending on matchups, giving us a different look than Delfino, and cutting down on Chandler's minutes, which he could use.

Lin/Harden is still the best backcourt combo. Bev is a second stringer best to rest Lin or Harden.

In most of the hater's opinion, LOFs don't like Bev. The OP is an idiot. That said, he is obviously giving compliments to Bev in this thread. And you call him a LOF?

You are dumber than a sack of rocks. Now GTFO.
