This team can wait this year and ride this current roster out until 2014 (assuming a whiff on D12). Then try for a trade for Love or LMA - and go for a ring then. Cause if this team holds out until 2015, Asik is going to be paid (and Parsons somewhat). Gotta keep Parsons so then cap situation becomes messy, seeing as how Lin/Asik/Parsons are all FAs then (Parsons RFA).
I'd much rather have him than the stomping douche Kevin Love (whose overall impact is painfully overrated). If we got Dwight, we could dangle Asik, one of the young PFs (Motie/Jones/TRob) and a pick for LA. The resulting team would be monstrous.
Chill bru, dude was coming back from injury. Probably had the adrenaline pumping that got him off to the fast start, but then got winded as the second half rolled around. Doesn't help his bench lost the game hard basically lol, gotta be demoralizing.
things could happen, he only has 2 years left on his contract.. he could request a trade.. i would rather get him through trade. give up anybody not named harden/asik..
This year's free agency is kind of suck really. You got Howard which we don't know if he'll willing to leave LA. A center position we seem to be content w/ Asik. Then there is Chris Paul...but the thing Chris is going to take away James Harden shot and he needs ball in his hand all the time to run the team. Paul doesn't seem to fit this team. Lin is perfect. And if we get Paul, we're thin inside. Josh Smith....not sure how good his shooting touch is. So, i think the free agent of 2014 is better w/ Lebron and Wade and Kobe becoming free agent...but are we willing to wait that long??
the urge for a stretch 4 is overrated. smitn and asik are doing fine. the only problem i hate with smith or dwight is their ft%. one of the pf/c gotta hit theifr fts
For LMA...it would cost us a few picks, Asik TRob, and Parsons...plus expiring contract to make the deal work...Would only do if Dwight comes in to fillin the spot...at Center Starters: Dwight, LMA, Harden, Lin and TJones... Bench: DMo, Beverly, Delfino, Smith, and Brooks...hmmm interesting lineup...
We dont need LA to make the deal happen..we could outright sign Howard via FA...But he would have to weight the options of playing with a young Superstar trio of Harden, Aldridge and himself...with JLin running the show...
LMA is from Dallas though.... Also interesting fact, when you do a LMA-Love trade in the trade machine the PTB lose 7 games while the T-Wolves gain 6 wins. The Love injury probably has something to do with the drastic change in wins-loss though (I don't know if that affects it)
Tbh, the blazers and rockets have an interesting relationship in this regard, with our problems with pippen all those years ago, we gave him up to portland for **** all, but why them? because they gave us clyde 4 years earlier and it won us a title. The teams are still owned by the same two guys. Aldridge is also a guy who has never complained ever, Allen is likely to trade him to somewhere where he wants to go for slightly less, especially with past deals taken into account.
Asik and Smith actually have been improving the Ft percentage. Howard is naturally and will always be a terrible ft shooter
I'd take Love over Aldridge, but not by much Love is better at - rebounding (+++), shooting (just, better range vs better mid range), face up, outlet passes (he's probably the best in the nba for big guys, when combined with his rebounding can create a cpl transition baskets a game) Aldridge is better at - defense (not great but better than love), interior scoring (great hands and post game), breaking double teams (length helps here and combines well with his post game), plus Aldridge can more freely fill in at center.
They have a bright future with LMA, Lillard, Batum and maybe even Myers Leonard. There's absolutely no chance they'd trade LMA unless it's for Harden.
