If that is the case, I just don't see what the big deal is. If it is just a counseling office, we aren't talking about much money in the grand scheme of things. This would have been a non issue when I was in school there.

You don't have to have been married in a church or technically receive a license to be married in the eyes of God. If man and woman come together in a covenant marriage promising to be one all the days of their life before God and man then God has bound you together with your mate in marriage.

Language is a funny thing. I have a feeling that some will try and pick apart my exact wording, and that is fine, but if you would like me to explain or expound, please let me know.

Covenant Marriage is from God and as such should be kept true to the original intent.

I would like to know more about the differences between a civil union and marriage.

Agreeing to disagree is what we have been doing since before this discussion.

Let the lawmakers decide how to handle this.

Just because you don't believe the tenants of my faith, doesn't remove the freedom I have to practice such.

Those with clout in the fields of history or science, I'm sure have no vested interest in their interpretations being correct.

While scientists once believe the earth to be flat, the Bible was already clear on the spherical nature of our earth.

Yes yes, and people who don't adhere to your faith get their freedom denied because you Jesus fangirls vote against them in masses.

    Democracy, The Beautiful.

We are a representative Republic good sir. We have elected officials who propose laws and we vote for executives to to execute to such laws and have appointed judges to uphold those laws as well.

Contact your representative if you disagree with public policy.

I'm not sure where you're going with this or if you're even serious to begin with. Your words often seem to dance on the border between moderate coherency and pure delusion.

But let's forget about fairytale and concentrate on reality for a second here.

You are a bigot and you support the actions of other bigots. Why?

The ancient Greeks proved that the earth was round and revolved around the sun long before the bible was written.

Varies by state... and hence the problem:

    http://www.now.org/issues/marriage/marriage_unions.html

So now that you know the two are very different, do you still believe gay people should not have the same rights and legal protections as straight people?

Please explain to me how I have treated anyone with hatred or intolerance.

Then after you do that, please list these other supposed bigots whom I supposedly support.

The problem is the definition of marriage they give is incorrect. Please see my other post on that topic of discussion.

Civil unions are a states rights. Also, new mar1juana legislation is a states right issue as well and possession of mar1juana is still a federal offense.

Oh sorry, I seem to have forgotten that it's not hatred or intolerance if the Bible is cool with it.

Next goal, slavery! Oh wait my bad. I meant "contractual labor", as you kindly stated on Page 9 of this lovely thread.

Sorry bro, but I asked you for evidence of hatred and intolerance.

You also seemed to fail to provide a list of other bigots I support.

You've made ten posts on this page alone, including multiple posts one after the other. That is not accepted behavior at ClutchFans. An FYI.

I had been under the impression that this thread was evident enough.

We know you deny marriage to your fellow Americans and you support slavery under the guise of "contractual labor", bro.

All posts were made quoting someone who directly questioned me or made a comment directed toward me. If you disagree with my etiquette, please report me. I have never used offensive language, but have only done my best to support my position and debate and discuss the position of other respected posters. Good day.

That impression is still a fallacy. You proposed a claim, and I asked you for evidence of that claim.

I am not denying marriage to anyone. Homosexuals have been unable to marry in this country without my help at all. I just stand with the federal government on their current stance.

I never supported slavery, I was explaining the mention of slavery in the OT when referring to the Israelites and provided supporting evidence that the NT was used to help abolish slavery. Which stance I uphold.
