Honest and funny quote from McHale about just giving Jones a shot since they've given everybody else one

Do you guys think Jones can be our Faried ? He grabbed an awful lot of rebounds last game.

I don't know, Faried looks a lot bigger and stronger.

I guess that is my one knock on Jones, he kind of looks small for a PF even smaller than Robinson.

But he produced and that's all that matters.

    Faried is 6'8 228lbs with a 7' wingspan

    Jones is 6'9 255 with a 7'2 wingspan

Because I am the eternal optimist and believe Robinson D-Mo and Jones will all pan out, I am actually hoping Jones can convert to a 3 and back up Channy-P. He was originally a 3 and bulked up to play in the post in college. If you look at his handles, they are phenomenal for a big man. Also Jones is one of the few basketball players that have their listed height barefoot (Lin does the same) so he might actually be a bit taller than other "6'9" forwards. For comparison sake, Faried is 6'6 barefoot. They both have identical verticals, but Faried definitely has well developed quick twitch muscles that allow him to just explode in the paint. If Jones can be like Faried, our future looks that much brighter.

It's one game. I've seen a lot of bad players have one good game. We'll have to wait a while to know if he is for real.

Terrence 'SlowMo' Jones never will be any like Faried. And once again, you think Jones is superstar after one stupid game against one weak team. Calm down people, he had what in DLeague? 6-7rebs as average? Don't expect him grabbing much there. If he gets time, those stats will be around 4rebs per game and about 6-8points. Not more.

If you draft the whole talent pool of PFs youre bound to get one good player right?

Not even close to be DMO only fan, but youre people are just crazy to be high on every single player who had their first good game with the team. For real. Just take a break of that.

Someone pointed Jones focus(???) in DL been scoring. It's a joke I guess. ;)

I am not big on the "player x is the next player y" statements, but if there is anyone on the Rockets roster that will hopefully fill the Faried role on the team, I'd guess it would be Thomas Robinson before I'd say Jones.

TRob, like Faried is a bit undersized. Has good reach (7'3.25" wingspan) He also has struggled to get minutes (as did Faried early on with DEN). His offense is limited to dunks and follow ups, like Faried. And he is a big and quick jumper, just like Faried. The Kings supposedly showed Robinson lots of videos of Faried.

And this college basketball stat from DraftExpress:

From being able to see the times that TJones has been down here in the RGV playing for the Vipers, he has improved very much. His first time down here he did well but one could tell he did not want to be down here but his last call down he looked very confident in his play and looked like he really wanted to be down here to improve his game. I am glad he has gotten the PT and looks like he will do well.

Lol he averaged 9 rebound per game in Dleague. Oh I did not know you could look into the future? That's awesome.. Oh wait you can't.. and before you denounce TJones get your facts straight. So what if we act Jones is a superstar? Were just really happy for him, and for his first major minutes as a rockets on court he really did good since he has not played a lot on the court.

Isn't Robinson faster? If you want to move someone to the 3 it should be TRob.

His major question mark has always been motor, hopefully getting the chance in this playoff atmosphere will keep his fire up. Why compare him to Faried? To me he's more similar to Odom.

So youre happy to make those threads and after couple of games cry how bad he is and need changes. Probably next one is Royce White, because all others been discussed already.

All those ''D-Mo/T-Rob/Jones superstars'' threads after one games is annoying because in couple of games you make other thread like ''D-Mo/T-Rob/Jones(?) are weak and should be benched''. Seriously, wtf?

Be happy, but no needed of 20 threads about how good they are after one game, and how bad they are later. There is no sence in those thread since all rookies have up&downs. And ****, that's annoying

He just looks smaller. He is almost 20lbs heavier than both of them. Yet, he has just as much mobility.
