I'm not much of a gamer these days.Sometimes I will buy a game, play it for about 30 minutes, and never touch it again. But I could'nt resist picking this one up as I enjoyed the hell out of Bioshock 1....the incredible voice acting, charismatic villain, Rapture, the little sisters, big daddies, plasmids, everything about that game just clicked. One of my all time favorites. Here's hoping this one does'nt dissapoint.

This game is disappointing. They have pretty much brought nothing new to this series. I mean for a creative and imaginative world like this to have very lack luster weapons. Machine guns, pistols, shotguns and more guns? Really? It's just a lack luster first person shooter game.

While I agree the combat isn't really new or innovative, I think the setting, set pieces and vistas more than make up for it. The views are quite breathtaking and remind me of Laputa: Castle in the Sky which was one of my favourite animes growing up. I think I'm about half way through the game and I spend more time exploring every nook and cranny than doing actual combat.

How innovative can you really be with guns though? How many games are? And the game is set in 1912. They take some liberties with that, but they're not going to go overboard.

There are 13 guns in the game. Pistols, shotguns, rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, RPG's. Usually at least one variation. Plus your sky hook plus 8 Vigors, each with a secondary function. It's not like it's painfully short on options.

If you want something with a lot of weapons, play Borderlands. That doesn't matter to me. I'd rather play Bioshock.

I've spent like over an hour trying to protect this damn ship when you control the songbird at the end of the game. This is the most frustrating thing i have ever played and its ruined my experience. I've literally tried like over 50 times. I switched to easy back after like the 10th time. This so ****ing ridiculous, especially since so many times its right b4 i beat it from what i've seen in youtube videos. I give up. If there's no cheat codes, i'm not playing this a second more. I'm seriously red with anger and frustration and it doesn't help theres no AC and my pc burns up the room. I'm sweating and ripping my hair out and grinding my teeth down to nothing. I'm done.

I just beat the game on hard, though it took me a couple of tries. I used Possession on enemies carrying RPGs and sometimes on the Patriots. The RPG guys will commit suicide if you upgraded the vigor. Stay on the top ledge, as there is cover, multiple weapons, health and salt crates around. As soon as you see a Zepplin, use the Songbird immediately or else it will send out more Patriots after you kill them. Don't waste the Songbird too much on ships carrying infantry, but rather on the ships with the turret and to kill infantry already on deck. Use Shock to slow down the Patriots and use the RPGs located on the racks in front of the ship.

A wonderful game. I finished it about a week ago and, after letting it settle, I think it's a great achievement. Here are my thoughts about the ending:

I was initially disappointed in the ending and even more so in myself, since I had to read some explanations as to what happened. However, after reading breakdowns of the Lutece's work with an infinite number of parallel universes and Elizabeth's ability to exploit those, it became clear.

This isn't about time travel - it's about the decisions we make and how they shape the future and influence the past. The idea isn't that Booker travels back in time to kill himself. Rather, he is able to access a point of his own existence - the past, if you're thinking linearly - and is able to be killed before he becomes Comstock, thus saving Elizabeth. The Lutece's work allows Booker to travel, with Elizabeth, between parallel universes, not time. Thus, he's able to wander a world he himself created, either actively or passively.

Yes, the story does get a bit too ambitious, especially with Booker's involvement with the Vox Populi. A tear within a tear within a tear. The Songbird portion also felt underdeveloped to me and I still don't understand the visit to Rapture at the end (even if I was giddy about it).

But, I don't fault them for trying. In an era with repackaged multiplayer experiences and afterthought single-player campaigns, Ken Levine and Irrational have done something wonderful. They're not only trying to tell a story; they're trying to save something about America, religion, corruption and personal destiny. That is rare and I feel fortunate that I've had the chance to play the game.

I tried maybe 5 or 6 times at normal difficulty, always losing it right at the end, then dropped it to Easy and got it on the first try. I thought it was pretty easy on the Easy setting. Songbird's timer goes pretty fast comparatively. The bar for the airship was pretty full.

Just finished my first playthrough on Hard difficulty. Such an amazing game, the ending makes me want to jump right back into it. I only collected about 65 of the Voxophones, a second time through will probably help me understand the story a lot more. The final fight was difficult but it wasn't impossible, took me about 4 attempts on Hard to finally finish it. Just need some time to let everything process in my brain.

If you remember from the first BioShock only Ryan or Jack -- since he was Ryan's son -- could use the Bathyspheres. So in using that it shows you that you are them. Remember what she says about the lighthouses, "every story has a man and a city, every story starts with a lighthouse." It was suggesting that in another tear you are Ryan, or Jack, or any number of other things. It shows that Rapture is crazy upside down Columbia. Plasmids are Vigors, EVEs are Salt. Fontaine would be Fink, even the little sisters resemble Elizabeth. It shows you have an infinite number of other options you could be. I really liked how they linked the two together.

Also the Songbird was modeled after the Big Daddies. Fink looked at the design of a Big Daddy through a tear and Wanted to build it for defending Columbia. One of the Voxophones revealed that.

Finally had a chance to play this and what an amazing experience it was. I was a little skeptical at first because the tone initially felt very different from the first game. Didn't think, for however awesome Columia was, that it could top Rapture. But with every passing hour, deeper and deeper the game became. And this is one of the reasons why I love playing games...for stories and campaigns that I will remember long after I've played them.

Have to say one of my favorite moments ...
was when Booker picked up the guitar and Elizabeth started singing "Can the Circle be Unbroken."
Just a subtle, calming moment within the storm.

I failed 5 or 5 times on Hard as well.

Turned it down to Normal and got it one try. Kind disappointed that I chickened out at the last battle as I've been playing on Hard the whole time (actually even forgot I was even playing on hard as I played little by little)

Story was okay. Not a fan of this type of "twists" really.

I thought this game was a masterpiece to be honest. I felt like I was in a movie.

My favorite part of the game was the subtle side story about how the guy heard modern music through the tears and replicated "stole" them. Then you start hearing modern(esque) music re-recorded on 1900s record players in the style of the time, in various houses through out the game.

    Really really cool

I'm glad I only spent 20 bucks on this clunker.

Dumbest ending ever. One part Quantum Leap, one part Sliders, and one part Lost. The writers just didn't know when to say enough. They just kept adding more and more bull #### until the whole story falls apart. It speaks volumes that the game ends with ten minutes of cut scenes just to explain to you what the #### just happened.

The game is very pretty, and sky surfing is fun, but only being able to carry two weapons (with very limited ammo) is ridiculous.

And if you were annoyed in the Borderlands 2 mission requiring you to defend a satellite, while dozens of mobs all attacked it at once, well, Bio 3 ends with that same type of mission. You have been warned.

In summary, not reading spoilers is a two edged sword. If I had known about the goofy storyline and ending, I would have taken a pass. If Bio 3 becomes a film, let the Wachowski siblings make it. It's right up their ally.

Bioshock Infinite is one of the best games to have ever come out and a personal favorite. Just because you did not like the ending does not mean the ending sucks. In my opinion you suck. Is that the truth? Well I dont know you tell me. You would prob disagree.....

With that said^^ I think the ending was absolutely brilliant. I have never played a game other than KOTOR with such a twist.... I mean, sereously they just tied together the whole game. Everything you had played through from rowing to the coin toss to the baptisim made sense and none was pointless.

Being able to carry 2 weapons and a large amount of powers on your other hand is more than enough. I rarely had any trouble using ammo. There was almost always ammo everywhere. And Elizabeth would actually go and get these for you...... Sure they could have had unlimited guns and ammo because thats how Raven likes his games..... But NO..... Who cares what he thinks........

The game features outstanding music, scenery, AI, graphics, characters, action.... Elizabeth is prob the best companion/characters of all times and one that does not get in the way but actually helps you and does not die.....

No, Bioshock Infinite was not dissapointing. It was almost perfect. The most interesting to look at game of all times and functionality... The game worked perfectly, the combat system worked and got you through the storyline just fine. The final mission jus kicked your @ss and it takes time to come up with a good strategy there.

One of the best games ever. Cant wait for dlc.....

The ending was kind of cool but a little confusing. I just got tired of the game towards the end. It just turned into another shooter.... kill bad guys, walk to new area, kill more bad guys, rinse, repeat. Earlier there was more immersion or something. Can't put my finger on it. That's the only real issue I had with it. But, because of that, I stopped playing (got bored) and turns out I was right there before the huge last fight. But, after a couple of months, I just watched both the last fight and ending on youtube.
