Morey doesn't like Tyreke's game. I am relieved that we will never try to acquire him. Also, LOL @ there are more ex-Rockets in the league than any other team.
Maybe. Innes has had a habit of hating on the Rockets. Maybe less so, now that they're having some success. Naturally, Innes is uninformed. One of his rants was about Morey having to pay Lin a balloon payment of $15 million 2 years from now. And this was all just a couple months ago. If I hadn't been driving I would have called in to disabuse the dude. Something that DID happen was Morey called in to SR610. During the conversation Morey asked in a lighthearded way something like, "Is that it? I thought you guys were gonna ask some hard questions." At which point Innes and his douchey self decided that was Morey's invitation to ask barbed, jerky, drunk-guy-at-the-end-of-the-bar-type questions. It was obvious that Innes and even Rich Lord, freed from the constraints of having the Rockets on 610 and having to be nice to them, had decided to go for the jugular a bit. Whereas when Kubiak calls in during the Texans season you don't get, "So, coach, you're kind of a meathead; don't you think other teams find your playcalling staid and predictable?" It's more like, "Hello, Coach. (slurp slurp) Hey, maybe that red challenge flag just slipped out of your fingers----right? (slurp slurp)" I do wish 610 had come up with someone besides Innes. If you can dig up Josh Innes, then you can find someone else. I think 610 mistakes its ratings with quality. A lot of people listen to 610 from sheer inertia or laziness. It isn't too tough to also program 790 and 1560 on the radio. Click. Click.
I think he's just smart enough not to stick with mediocre players who will not take us anywhere and bogg the team down with unwanted contracts.
Thanks so much. He's just overused and the other team's best defender is now on him. Funny how Asik and Lin's minutes are watched because it's their first year starting, but somehow that doesn't apply to Harden. Seems to be an elite spot up shooter too... Harden ISOs probably won us as many games (OKC, Spurs) as its lost, no big deal then.
I like what Morey said. He thinks Asik Smith and now maybe Terrence are set at the big spots and they just need either DMo or Trob to emerge as the 4th big and they will have a better chance come playoffs. I think DMo will emerge as the 4th option. Everyone talks how bad a shooter he is but ever since he got over the starting adjustment period when he went 1-11 behind the arc he has shot 33% and overall just under 50%. He is not the idea stretch, needs to rebound better but he does effect game with his hustles. The kid just has so much to learn and adjust to. But if he can play a little better D he will help us more with his shooting than TRob IMO. Either way the key is Terrence is are best bet at PF. He brings more length to the spot and may end up being our best shot blocker passing up Beverly. He will get better and then teams will get a scouting report on him and he will struggle a bit but if he rebounds anything like yesterday he will be a major plus. I am glad to hear Morey agrees, and it sounds like McHale is on board as well.
This also shows me Harden is a more efficient spot up shooter than ISO player, which begs the question: why not have him camp in the corner and Lin run point?
That is actually the point I'm trying to make sort of. its like a minor league team fir the rest of th nba but in a good way. he is willing to let go of players with good value for players with better value
'Cause the Rockets don't have KD or Westbrook. We've seen what happens when the other team's defense is successful at denying Harden the ball.
First part is a fair point, but if opposing teams want to play ball denial with Harden spotting up, I say great.
That sounds like he's just making suckers out of other GM's to me...lol.. But it's expensive being a fan of a team with Morey as a GM. Got to buy new jerseys all the time...
A whole lot of hyperbole here. By the end of Rudy's tenure, a lot of fans were pissed at his "Dump it in, pass it out for 3" only, offense. It really was about as basic as it got as far as NBA offenses go. Did it work, yes when you have the worlds best center for a small span. As far as being the best ever at spacing. You need a serious lesson in NBA history. That's a giant slap in the face to Celtics of the 80's, and the triangle offense and MJ.
Because Harden is a significantly better pnr ball handler. making harden the spot up shooter is wasting more talent on offense than making lin spot up.
Not true. At the very least it should be 50/50 unless Hardens feeling it. When Lin's in control, he gets more people involved on offense with a good mixture of Harden ball which is perfect. With Harden ball, we get very one dimensional quickly, that is so many posters have called for Lin to play pg and Harden to play SG. Having said that, we do not park Harden in the corner as that is a waste of our best player
He's on now. I only caught the tail end, he was talking about how they like sending young players that aren't in the rotation to the D-Leauge.
