I know it seems crazy, but I want to keep Asik; if we could have both, O.K., but I don't want Asik to go. He is putting up "Ming lite" numbers. A comparison would be interesting, if some one will dig up the stats.

You conveniently forget the bird in the hand is better 2 in the bush theory. NBA players depend on their athleticism, one wrong collision and it can be all over. West was closing in on a multi-year near Max contract until he got injured late last year. He had to settle on a 1 year deal because of his injury. Any smart agent would not advise his client to walk away from money ness the amount was small and the potential to make more was high. There is no guarantee Howard gets max money ever again.

That being said if Howard walks to Houston he saves some money on state taxes and things like affordable housing and lower cost of living. But more importantly Howard would have to be unhappy in LA to want to walk. he is with the premium team in the league and unless he thinks they are not willing to hand the team over to him and not Kobe I expect he would stay.

He may have already made that decision and you can be certain if he did Houston would be high up on that list but even he did the deal is not a deal until it is signed and there's a lot of time before he can sign anything. And a lot of time to question whether he should walk away from guaranteed millions. Certainly leaving money on the table could change any decision he may or may not have already made.

Howard has 5 baby mommas he is going to want every penny he can get. Morey needs to focus on a PF like Love since I doubt Smith makes us a contender.

Honestly if we could get a player like Kevin Love, I'm fine with sticking with Asik.

Howard is still a beast though, despite playing injured in a down year. And if it does come down to it I would have Howard over Asik, but only if we could trade Asik and get equal value or better in return.

We're not getting Kevin Love, won't have a chance for him for couple years. Why not get Howard at the 4? He's not a true center like Hakeem, and he's only 6'10". Our defense would be sick.

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Howard
    Asik

    Championship!

Why not? Let's name the 5 top PF's, which ones can Howard guard? All of them. Which ones can he score on? All of them.

    Love
    Griffen
    LA
    D. Lee
    Nowitski

it's not the traditional 4 that bothers me... it's the Melo's of the world that would either force us to use Dwight to guard a 'stretch four' (thus taking him out of the paint) or into some terrible cross matchups.

Honestly; I rather see the Rockets go after Dwight Howard than Andrew Bynum and Josh Smith. Andrew Bynum and Josh Smith would totally f**k our team up, no joke.

Dwight or love even though I don't like either. If none of them can be had. SAVE THE CAP FOR 2014 because that FA class is EXCELLENT

Would Morey get in trouble if he justified rockets salary situation and how signing a max is more than possible( with moves), but not saying a specific name???

It seems there are people going out of their way now to persuade Howard into an extension with the lakers. ESPN are some laker lovers. This is BS.

not trying to get upset, but damn! those shady a$$es know what they are doing for the lakers.

If he intended to stay in LA all along, why would he not have signed the extension? Maybe im wrong but it seems he wants to keep his options wide open. Id be all for Howard to join us here. That team would be sick and even more popular

Howard's agent would be well aware space can be made to accommodate him, that article is written for fans, not for players and agents, that his only con is one that doesn't really exist says something (Broussard had to find one for the purpose of his article, and there well, wasn't anything else).

i honestly believe in my mind that unless the lakers make a long run in the playoffs i do not see dwight howard staying in LA. I know the money seems to make everyone think that its an automatic fix to stay in LA but im not so sure thats the case.If lebron can take less money to win a championship why cant dwight. imo he he has a better chance to win a title in the next few years with houston than in LA and he will still be a global brand due to JLin and yao's connection to china so if he chooses to stay in LA i wont be mad but if he comes to houston then im all for it

If the Lakers don't make the playoffs, it would make an interesting offseason for Howard and the rest of the league
