Sadly I knew a similar Joke as well when I was in third grade. I was born in 1986 so it was a while back. To be honest I knew the joke but didn't really understand what it meant. There's always that one kid that knows the joke and tells everyone and I'm guessing that's how kids learn these jokes. Anyways back to the original question at hand, never got the talk from my parents. The only talk I got was when my mom found my brothers playboy stash and it was about dangers of p*rn. A sex talk specifically was never given to me. My sister has gone through this with her three kids and what she trys to hammer into them is, if you're going to do the deed wear a condom. Then she adds she's to young to be a grandma :grin:.
Only thing you should tell him is "the first one is always the best son, nothing will ever compare to the first one. Make it count"
my son's 11th birthday is today. not sure he's ready for "the talk" Not sure what that consists of anyway. I do check the history on his computer and so far nothing other than video games.
My computer history at that age would be the same, better he learn it from you than someone like SCK (or never learn it all). Obviously, I don't know your child, but I think 11 is old enough.
My son is going on 10 and I've already had a mini-talk with him. We were watching a movie and something was said that he didn't understand. He asked me about it so I just started telling him. Once his curiosity was met we continued watching the movie. I'll probably revisit and have a more formal talk in half a year or so.
He could just be clearing his history/cookies/cache. But 11 seems young for pron anyway. Related question to this thread: how do you prevent your kids from using tablets/smartphones/whatev from accessing pron whenever they want?
He has history in there that I can see. If it was cleared I would be suspicious. I don't think he's sharp enough to go in and clear out certain items and leave the rest especially since he doesn't know I've checked it. I'm probably going to install something on there soon just to keep him from being exposed to some of the sick stuff you can find on-line but so far it's all minecraft all the time.
