Oh yeah! I couldn't remember which show he was on. Thanks for refreshing my memory.

Great episode! I also thought she was going to blow up.

I immediately knew that Colt was going to get himself killed. I think he wanted an out of the mess so he saw the opportunity with Tim.

I'm so glad that Ava decided not to kill Audry. I still like her. Limehouse surprised me with what he did.

Can't wait for the season finale even though I'm gonna be sad about not getting my Timothy Olyphant fix every week. :(

You can always check out The Crazies or watch Deadwood if you haven't before.

The finale definitely looks interesting, especially with scene where the Detroit clan stand off against Reylan and Winnona in the baby's room.

I hope Boyd somehow gains control of the entire Detroit mob. That may be a little difficult to pull off though.... I liked Colt, sad to see him go. Tim getting revenge for his friends death was pretty cool too though.

It's okay, the offseason will just give us time to binge watch season's 1-3 again.

What'd everyone think of the finale? Left the main characters in interesting places...

Watching the finale tonight. Been a pretty strong season despite a kind of weak "mystery" storyline. It is strange not having a consistent antagonist throughout the season but the characters are so good it was still strong.

And to those asking, the guy in the baby's room at the end of last week's episode was the right hand man of the bald dude from Detroit (the same guy who went to the high school to get Drew with Boyd)

I was expecting more BANG BANG. Raylan Givens is a very smart man...getting the bad guys to do his dirty work!! Boyd is going to be on a serious rampage next season now that Ava is going to be locked up.

It was a smart move by Raylan but I really think he felt morally compromised at the end.

Agreed. The truck scene with Boyd and Raylen where they have the 'who's the bad guy' conversation was amazing and seemed to really affect Raylen.

I don't think he was morally compromised by what he did at all. He gave Augustine a chance to turn himself in, even though he dude said he was going to kill him, his wife, and their unborn child. I think the way Raylan sees it, Augustine made his own bed by not taking his offer.

So I just finished season 4's finale and can now finally read through the rest of this thread. The best part of the show is the dialogue. It's smart and witty all around. The characters are all strong. I love how the show focuses on how law enforcement requires proof of guilt because every villain insinuates crimes without ever implicitly stating things and it makes such sly and cunning dialogue. The back and forth between Raylan and all the characters makes this show so amusing.

It's hard for me to rank the seasons because I enjoyed each one of them for different aspects.

Even though season 1 was episodic in nature, I thought it had the most comedic and amusing value out of all the episodes. Probably because the writers could focus more on dialogue with a new storyline instead of having a continuous story.

Season 2 was good for the Bennett story and also for Raylan and Winona. I liked seeing Raylan balance his work and personal life.

Season 3, probably my least favorite. Neal McDonough was a great villain and a maniac, and Ellstin Limehouse was menacing, too. I never got that same amusement out of this season as I did with the others. Maybe because Quarles was such an outsider and couldn't develop that smart banter with Raylan like with other antagonists.

I liked season 4 because it felt like a chase between Raylan and Boyd. Also, Boyd's schemes were amazing in this season. He is always able to play his enemies off one another, but he took it to another level in this season.

It sucks that I have to wait a full year for next season now. But I have become a big fan of this show.

If you need a fix, pick up some of Elmore Leonard's novels to tide you over until next January. The show does a really good job of capturing his style.

    "That was last week."

Solid premier, not sold on Michael Rapaport as a Florida redneck.

4 episodes into the season: lots of action, good drama, decent suspense. The writing and acting is still solid, but something is a little off this season. It's really going full throttle in some regards, like the opposite of the slower moving early seasons. Remember how crazy The Shield got in the last couple of seasons? Well, it's not to that level yet, but it's in that direction.

I haven't been a fan of this season to be honest. Granted, it may be because it's my first season to watch it week-to-week instead of binge watching, but the storylines aren't as direct as past seasons have been.

Dialogue is still good, but I think my problem is because Boyd's and Raylan's plots are going separate ways and haven't quite converged yet to an overall plot with all the characters. Boyd's plot revolves around the Detroit mafia connection and Ava's jail release, whereas Raylan is all up in the Crowder business. But with the Crowders finally meeting Boyd and the capture of Theo Tonin Detroit mafia, it looks like Boyd and Raylan will finally intersect and the plots will finally connect.

Yeah, I'm the same way too. I just can't get over the fact rappaport is playing a redneck. He has such a thick New York accent, it's hard to picture as anything else.
