My Wife worked for him here in Houston. The guy is a serious genius when it comes to things. I was pretty against what she used to tell me about his procedures, but I have started to wake up about all this. The guy is on to something, but this Country would never let him fly.

He lives down the street from my brother. He seemed like a nice guy when we met. Once I saw the very biased documentary, Burzynski: Cancer is Serious Business, I changed my mind.

Reading more into the subject and talking to some doctors about his methods, there's definitely a fishy smell.

Thats because you asked doctors who will probably lose patients and profits because of him.

When profits and finances get involved
the facts of things get muddled
People sometimes have vested interest in things, tend to side with those things that favor their position [economic or otherwise]

That said. . . in these situations . . .who knows which one to believe
you have to read for yourself and try to be the most informed you can
and hope you make the best decision

I apologize everyone. I should have titled this thread "Cancer Killers".

If Doctor Burzynski can cure cancer, why doesn't he have a 100% success rate?

From what i heard, most of his patients had to go through either chemo or radiation before going through his treatment. It is known that those methods break the body down so much that it sometimes does not recover enough.

It is also known that chemo and radiation are toxic to the body and kill more than cancer cells. The success rate of chemo/radiation is said(?) to be only 2% living past 5 years.

Thats what the question mark was from. What you have here is a stalemate between doctors on both sides. For every groudbreaking discovery, there are going to be rebuttals from those who stand to lose the most from it. This has been going on for decades now.

i did a research project on him back in 1995/6, fda was trying to have him prosecuted as a drub smuggler cause his patients would come in from out of state and cross state lines with his medicine that was not fda approved, judge through the case out and told the prosecution to develop a case that was more substantial

about 4/5 years ago i had an interview with mdanderson cancer research and i was interviewed by the lead dr. doing the research and i asked him about dr. burzynski, the dr. told me that burzynski was a quack and anyone who doesnt want his medicine approved by the fda has something to hide

Why the rolleyes? Perhaps 100% is a bit over the top, but if he has such a remarkable cure why doesn't he have dozens and dozens of testimonials? Why are there websites from patients who have had the exact opposite experience than the 3 in the video? Why does he charge money for clinical trials when it is usually the other way around?

The questions you should be asking are,"why hasn't he been prosecuted? Why is he allowed now, to still practice?

The name of the game "Nothings Sacred Money Talks!"

There is a special place in hell for these people. I can't phantom what it must feel
like to have your child dying from cancer and being told "there is nothing we can
do for him/her ", and you know that there is cure or possible cure readily available.

The guy from communist Romania said it all! Not even in a communist country do
they prevent you from receiving medicine that could save your life or the life of a
    loved one!

I haven't really reviewed this subject in a while (not really worth the time), but I'm not sure there's really anything illegal about what he's doing (though he's generally right on the line). You can practice bad/ineffective medicine while charging patients an arm and leg. Hence chiropractic, acupuncture, homeopathy, etc. As long as his treatment isn't hurting anyone, don't think it really matters.

That's more alternative medicine in general, though I believe Burzynski's methods more or less apply.

The blog post I linked to earlier is a bit outdated (though more on-point about the movie), but here's a more recent post by the author:
    http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/index.php/burzynski-movie-spawns-a-sequel/

Here's an example of a cancer treatment that might actually be effective:
    http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/index.php/a-universal-anti-cancer-drug/
Though I still have my doubts, we'll see how it works during clinical trails (which was made possible due to grant money from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine).
