You guys streaming in here gloating after 1 game is just as insufferable as Carl trolling other threads with PPat ridiculousness.

D-Mo scored well, but didn't get on the boards and was a negative defensively. Jones was solid tonight in all phases. He can contribute in many different ways.

People call for "patience" on Robinson despite 66 games of evidence. Now you decided Patterson is bad based on 1 game and 15 minutes?

Pat didn't play much tonight because starter Thompson played well and Kings went with Thompson. The Kings team is no doubt better after the trade and Patterson has been much better than Robinson overall.

People ripping on TRob before he even has a chance to develop...TRob will be a good player...and time will prove that...Personally I think he may be the option behind Omer at Center...For right now it will be DMo...

I like the Greg Smith, TJones Combo
    Harden and Delfino...
    Parsons and Garcia
    and Lin and Beverly...

Honestly my biggest issue with this thread and some and the back and forth that you and I have had is that you seemed to believe that Patterson was an important cog in the machine. That he was a huge loss that would somehow impact the Rocket's ability to make the playoffs. He is a decent role player...nothing more. I will admit he is better than Robinson right now, but he was no big loss in the grand scheme of things. I think the team's record since the trade has proven that.

Lol...all those guys have improved. Last year Morris was a complete scrub. This year just a regular scrub. Improvement

Jones has made the Patterson loss a bit more palatable.

Saying the Kings are better after the trade is like putting sugar on crap though.

They really have nowhere but up to go.

I like how Patterson was taking minutes away from three power forwards who were better than him. Hell, Royce White was probably better than Patrick Bargnani.

The team has had a soft schedule after the deadline-- not only do they play against worse opponents overall than they did, they also has had few b2b games and no 4-games-in-5-nights stretches.

Patterson may only be a good role player, but he was important for this team. It's not a suprise that the team has gone through 3 starting PFs already (and more backups) in search for a guy to trust for the playoffs.

According to professional sports gambler Halarabos Voulgaris, who watches a ton of games closely and is a Rockets fan, "Obviously HOU made the P.Patterson for T. Robinson trade w/ an eye for the future, but its pretty clear that they were better with P.Patt."

The team has been good enough to take advantage of its soft schedule and make up for the loss of Patterson-- mostly through its other regulars having gotten better but also with a few good games thrown in by DMo, Smith and now Jones-- but they would likely have an even better post-deadline record had they kept Pat and likely more ready to compete if they get into the playoffs, too.

As I said several times before, I don't have an issue with trading Patterson per se, I have an issue with trading him for lotto bust Robinson rather than anything useful in the middle of a playoff chase. Don't like TRob's game and don't see that much potential.

In retrospect, if Morey wanted to trade Patterson, he is better off getting a Kings 2nd round pick for him instead of takin back $3.5M in dead money for 2013-14. At least this way we'd have cap room to pursue Dwight Howard in an outright signing.

Soft schedule? Rockets 0-9 against the Spurs, Clippers, and Thunder with Patrick Bargnani. 3-0 without him.

I know this is your little crusade, but we both know that Patterson is soft. You overestimate the market for a power forward who can't rebound, or post up.

Carl, I have grown to actually respect your opinion on this and I see your point, but Patterson's 11 points and 4 rebounds are very easy to replace. You said yourself several guys have stepped up to do so. May not be the same person every night, but more often than not, it gets done. No way to say we would have more wins with him when we've beaten several teams we lost to with him on the team including Sacramento. I like him as a player, but he is pretty forgettable if he isn't shooting wide open jumpshots. I'll be honest, I have always had a bit of dislike for power forwards that don't rebound. Maurice Taylor traumatized me.
