Most dairy products will inhibit fat loss.

I have a low-carb diet of my own that I feel I have adjusted/perfected over the years to suit my lifestyle. Yes, I said 'years'. My "diet" is just the way I eat.

Everybody is different. Based on your blood-type you can already make adjustments to your diet different from the next person's.

    My diet in a nutshell
    • No fruit
    • No dairy
    • Minimum 80g protein per day
    • Lots of legumes
    • Don't drink calories (except I have alcohol among friends. Don't make your life miserable for your diet. It must be sustainable)
    • no aritifical sweeteners
    • no white starches (including anything that can be white)
    • no seed/vegetable oils
    • no soy
    • no refined sugars
    • no food colouring
    • less salt

All that's left really are vegetables and meats. Vegetables/legumes are more important than meat, but I'm Greek so I have to have my meat, lol. I try to eat chicken and fish rather than red meats.

I try to stick to a ratio of achieving a healthy well-being which is 60% diet/ 30% exercise / 10% supplements. My dietary supplements are just vitamins to help achieve certain levels that are otherwise unattainable through diet alone.

Don't let the scale lie to you, particularly if you're a woman. Measure inches.

Please, if you have any questions about how I diet, I would love to share with you. This is kinda a hobby of mine. Just don't want to take up multiple pages for my post. There is a lot more to how I eat than just the simple guidelines I posted above.

Haven't been to the doctor in a while, but I will soon. At that point I will try to get everything measured/tested so I can share it with you.

Myth: Calories in greater than calories out will result in weight gain.

^^This is simply not true. There is so much more to it than that wrt the human body. I eat waaaayyyy more calories than I expend, but everything I eat is useful to my body (not just for energy)

Get some fiber in your diet. It would be hard hitting your daily on a low carb lifestyle. Metamucil or sugar free fiber gummies may help.

OH! I made it sound like 60% / 30% / 10% is the best way to be healthy... but what I meant is that ratio is my preference. Though you shouldn't rely on supplements for more than 10% of your health, the rest can be adjusted however suits you. If you exercise a ton, then your diet might be less important to you... even so, you should still have some focus on your diet in order to be healthy. Diet is more important than exercise when it comes to being a healthy person.

lol who has a poop schedule?

If you're having problems with your stools, you can adjust your diet a little.

Well, maybe it's not because of your diet directly but because you switched up your diet. Your body is adjusting.

If you have problems next week, then you can look to change something. I eat lots of legumes everyday, so I have no issues, haha.

This is only true to a certain extent. Depends on what your lifestyle is like, are you an active individual or a bodybuilder that requires a higher macro ratio of protein? If you think shoveling down bacon, cream cheese, mayo, oil, butter senselessly without watching your caloric intake is foolish. You WILL get fat not matter what keto or not. Pick your food wisely to fuel your body. A calorie is a calorie.

"A calorie is a calorie" <--- completely false statement. And the rest of what you said might be true but does not back your argument

If you can tell me how calories are calculated, we will continue this debate.

My diet isn't extremely different but I've started lifting more than I have in the last 4 years and have almost completely stopped drinking.

^^I don't want to come off as a jerk either... years ago I would go on a fad diet of watching my calorie intake... since then I have done lots of research and read many articles and books. I was not making an informed decision when I decided to focus on calorie intake. It's about what you eat more-so than how much you eat.

I'm confused. Are you or aren't you on a new diet?

When you say your diet isn't much different, are you referring to the Atkins diet?

I can assure you, 'lifting' has no affected your 'poop schedule' lolz :p

I believe a calorie is a calorie but not all calories are created equal. Bro, I get what you are saying but to the others on here trying to lose weight and probably have a stationary desk job and work out casually, they'd be making a big mistake thinking they can just go over their BMR without getting fat or gaining weight.

I never said atkins I just posted earlier I was dieting. Carbs are in my diet.

For breakfast I have Greek pudding and a banana.

I'm in food sales so lunch depends on where I have an appointment most of the time. I usually eat a salad wherever I go.

For dinner I do a lean meat with a side of veggies

I also drink a protein shake after I work out.

The caloric intake method is only meant for people that do not exercise and are simply dieting to lose weight. People who lift weights and pack on muscle will be able to take in more calories (the amount varies) and still lose fat.

We can agree to disagree. I understand what you are saying as well. What you say is technically true, but by eating the right way, your body may need minimal movement, and can still lose body fat.

I have a boring, sedentary desk job. I became lean and stayed lean by eating a certain way. I work out a lot now, so I have adjusted my diet accordingly. Your lifestyle dictates the way you eat, but just because you have a sedentary lifestyle [that doesn't allow time for extracurricular activities] doesn't mean you have to be fat.

Modern nutritional science will make you second guess everything you ever learned about calories/BMR/BMI. Don't completely throw it away, but just the way you think about those things. It's just not that simple. It requires a book to explain everything going on within the human body. I can't write a book on here, but I have read books. I know how my diet works, but that doesn't mean it's for everybody. There are way too many variables.

Anyway, can't wait to get back to this thread tomorrow. Laters!
