KAAAAHHHHNNNNNN! Give the max to Rubio, so we can get KLove. KLove and Harden are buddies.

    KLove > JSmith

Love is overrated by most. Especially fantasy guys. He is not the best PF in basketball.

Not sure I would like building a "champion" around Love/Harden because of defense but as a NBA fan, I would love(heh) the Rockets to make it work the same way I wanted LeBron to unite with D'Antoni to make that system the norm of the NBA.

Although I love my Grizz, I can't stand that limit posessions basketball. I prefer Houston's style.

    Lin, T-Rob, T-Jones, & Brooks for Pau.

Then hope Kahn is still the Wolves' GM.

    How to Troll.
"I would take Love over Harden, anyone that disagrees has no idea what they are talking about."

    How NOT to troll.
"I would take Love over Harden. I just prefer this type of player and I think he still has a lot of room to get better."

The latter may actually start a discussion...the former is Trollish because you make it seem like Harden is some garbage player that can't even be compared to Love.

Do want!!! He can shoot the 3 which will relieve pressure in the middle. We will appreciate Love's talent.

You could actually sign Dwight Howard and do that trade after (and a dwight, love, harden trio is only up for about 48m as opposed to miami's 60.5, and 1m more than durant, westbrook and ibaka).

Funny how Love's absence from the game makes it easier to hate on him. Or, at least, to undervalue him.

"But he never won anything in Minnesota."

If he'd been healthy---if his GM were smarter---if McHale hadn't been his coach---maybe this wouldn't be true.

Guy's damn good. 20 some-odd points per game, 13 rebounds. Great passing.

Granted, a Harden/Love-based team would need not only Asik but other players who might have a slight interest in defense. If I remember correctly, Love's idea of great D is to step on someone's face? :)

I don't know. I feel that we would be better off with a tim duncan at the four.
A pf who can intimidate in the paint on offense and defense and get grab the boards. Yeah i know, hofers are hard to come by.

Every team could use a Tim Duncan.

You don't honestly still expect people to take any of your opinions regarding basketball seriously, do you?

Sorry, but I just could not resist.

    WHAT!?

back to the topic, odd that everyone is talking about the defense of K.Love, when the rox PFs are Dmo/Trob/TJones/Smith/Delfino/Garcia/Parsons.
If you are saying David Lee, then I can understand the concern of defense, but Love? His defense is better if not at least equal to the current Pfs. While the rebounds and offense is miles better.

And at least, Harden do not need to play hero/iso ball every single time.

Kevin Love would be sick on this team. Outlet passes all day.

Seeing as Love signed the contract, it was wise. It is yet to be seen whether offering it to Rubio would be wise. They're probably best off giving the 5-year to no one, if they can get away with it.

I wouldn't mind Love on the Rockets. But I can see why the Wolves gave the deal to Rubio instead. Rubio seems more endearing to fans. Not to mention he's been playing like the second coming of Jason Kidd since the All-Star break.

I think the article is right. The writer is not making the case that Rubio is a better player it is just suggesting that he acutally has the work ethic and determination to become a superstar. Dwight Howard gets mix feelings around here but Love gets a pass? Love is being a total b****.

Meanwhile, Rubio has been playing the best basketball of his life over the last 6 weeks (had his first triple dip against the Spurs, smoked the Lakers pretty much single handedly, 8 steals last night). Meanwhile, Love is living off the reputation of one good season and sniping the organization to the media. Keeping Rubio is a no brainer.

Kevin Love has had a PER over 18 every year he's been in the league. He averaged over 15 rebounds a game 2 years ago, which is not the one good season you are referencing.

I love watching Rubio play when he's on. He's an average jump shot away from being a consistent all-star level point guard. he will never be Steve Nash, because he will never shoot like Nash. He doesn't have Kidd's size (which compensated for a bad shot early in Kidd's career). But I still love to watch him play.

Not sure what that has to do with work ethic. The writer references a bad work ethic / team unity from Love. I guess? Maybe? I don't know... because he didn't stay in Minnesota and sit on the bench every game? I get that dissapointment... but I certainly understand Love's perspective, which is the organization is run very very poorly. Moreover, it's not clear to me what Rubio did do when he was injured. Was he on the bench every game? Maybe... I don't know. Did he stay in Minnesota?

Does the writer forget how Rubio didn't want to go to Minnesota in the first place and tried to force his way out? Does the writer really think in 3-5 years that a Wolves team that is still a non-playoff contender will be making Rubio happy? Of course not.

The main reason why it didn't make sense to give Love the 4 year deal and save the 5 for Rubio, though, is because on paper, despite a series of poor choices by management, there could be a future here. Rubio, Love, Pekovick (if resigned), coached by Adelman, with the right supporting cast, SHOULD be regular playoff team with everyone healthy, and potential playoff runs with the right supporting cast. And the way they could have had that in Minnesota would have been by giving Love the 5 year deal he deserved, and dealing with Rubio when the time came.

Instead, they've pissed Love off, not just by undervaluing him from a contract perspective, but apparently given some of the other communications they've had. These types of articles by the local press don't help (even if they may not hurt that much). Don't forget this is an management team that drafted back to back point guards high in the lottery as a purposeful strategy... which makes ZERO sense, but even in doing so passed on Steph Curry. Then later in the draft they pick up a THIRD point guard, only to trade him to Denver for a future pick... and, oh yeah, that guy, Ty Lawson goes on the be a pretty good player. I mean I guess I can't blame them for Derrick Williams, since there weren't a lot of good player in that draft - or the good ones seemed to be undervalued by everyone for some reason - except to note that it seemed pretty clear that Williams was most comfortable as a PF. And what do you know, that's when he's seemed to excel this year, when playing PF. Who plays PF for the TWolves? Oh yeah... Kevin Love.

So if I'm Love, if someone is giving me flack for not listening more the TWovles management... then yeah, I'd say screw off too
