My favorite was Asickkkkkkkkkk's double double by half time. Who does the Turk think he is Yao Ming with that two mid ranges the elbow and short corner jumper. I love it. Mch bench shao lin and the turk bc too many pick and rolls. lol

While I like the outside finesse, I love inside muscle!

Count me in, Asik and Smith to finish the season.

I think Smith needs help with foot work...once he gets the foot work going...he would be a DECENT option on PF. He has really nice touch around the hoop and he can throw it down as well.

Let have him work in Hakeem in the off-season.

Asik also needs help with foot work but both of these guys have great upside.

McFail's post-game interview shows just how clueless he is on defense.

He criticizes Asik and Smith's D when in fact they played good D the past 2 games.

McHale has zero clue why in the absence of Harden and Parsons, the D has suddenly gotten a lot better.

It's funny watching the huddles where Lin is basically coaching the team and his idiot coach comes in with some generic nothing statement about more pace or passing it more.

It reminds me a LOT of Chris Paul basically coaching the Clippers and his equally bad coach Del Negro being there. Both the Clippers and Rockets are similar in that they have a lot of talent but bad coaching that is making the team underperform what they would do with better coaching.

I watch streaming online during the rocket games and when there are ads, the video still stay on court and show whats going on andyeah I actually see Lin talking and point out stuff in huddles all the time.

maybe thats why Mchale isn't too fond of him lol

Smith is also bigger, and has had the benefit of NBDL experience and a full off-season with the coaches.

    1. What do you think Thomas Robinson was doing from late June 2012 to November 2012?

    2. Smith has 2 yrs with Fresno State and 1 with RGV. Robinson has 3 yrs at Kansas.

Thomas Robinson is going to be out of the league by the end of his rookie scale contract. Anybody who has been watching basketball for a while cannot seriously tell me that this guy doesn't have "bust" written all over him.

For such a young player, Smith's composure during crunch time commendable.

Lol, this guy will definitely not be out of the league. If guys like Thabeet who don't have a passion for basketball can still be on a team Robinson, a guy who works extremely hard and has a passion for the game is not going to be out of the NBA.

For all the worries about his FG% he shoots a better FG% than Dirk did in his rookie year.

Any one that has been watching basketball for a while knows what makes the best players is work ethic. It's something that the Rockets usually go after.

Do you think having twin towers down low will affect Harden's penetration?? Perhaps McHale only exercises this tactic while Harden is out...

It will force him to be more of a facilitator than someone who just attacks the paint. He actually has more experience with this kind of offense at OKC where Collison, Ibaka (2012), and Perkins could hardly stretch the floor.

maybe, but at the end of the 4th quarter, I want him attacking the paint. I'd bet Asik and Smith don't close out the games on the court together.

If it is a close game and both guys are not in foul trouble and are rested up for the finish, I would expect both of them to be in there for defensive purposes.

Don't underestimate what we've discovered here by pairing these guys. With Smith in there, it allows Asik to roam a little bit and take on the more elite offensive big man like he did in the game against the Clippers because Smith has the base and the strength to defend against the bigger 5s.

In my opinion, the defensive pairing of these two is a huge development. I would expect them to close out close games defensively with Asik alternating out on offensive possessions and depending on matchups and how they continue to perform together McHale just might go to them for the last half of the 4th quarter altogether.
