Here's the thing- I'm such a huge fan of music that I have a hard time saying that anyone sucks. I mean, I do like songs from Nickelback, and Bon Jovi, etc. Maybe with Oasis, and to a lesser extent Jay-Z, I just never got into their music- and I tried- Supernova, Wonderwall, etc. To me, they're a better version of Tears for Fears, another band I thought was a bit overrated. Hey, my favorite artist is Springsteen, and there are plenty who hate his music.

    1. Bon Jovi
    2. Def Leppard
    3. Nickelback
    4. Bryan Adams
    5. Poison
    6. Van Halen w/ Sammy Hagar (a few songs were good)
    7. Oasis
    8. Jay-Z (respect him as an entrepreneur- his music does nothing for me)
    9. Coldplay
    10. Any new incarnation of a new band that tries to use a new singer. Foreigner, Journey, Styx w/o Dennis DeYoung, etc. Exceptions for groups that brought in a new singer who recorded original material with them (AC-DC is the best example).

There are lots of great Oasis songs, but I definitely understand not getting into their music. Or even, not preferring their sound. Everyone has their own liking and whatnot.

Btw, I really respect your opinion on music. You've posted some really good stuff on a lot of music threads on this forum :)

Oh, also, Born to Run kinda helped changed my life at one point. And I think it's one of the most influential pieces ever and a defining point of American culture.

I'm only good for 1955 through 1995. Anything past 1995 I'm pretty clueless about, unless its stuff from my various groups like Radiohead.

There are three albums that, as much as I have numerous favorites, stand above everything else: Born To Run, What's Going On, and Astral Weeks.

Start a new thread if you want to discuss worst bands.

Let me just preface by saying your 10 Least Favorite include artists that have sold millions, won Grammys, and have been named on Rolling Stone's greatest bands.

Not the best example in my book.

Britney Spears has sold millions, the Starland Vocal Band won Grammy awards (so much for your argument on those), and how many of those that I named were really named as Rolling Stone's greatest bands?? Jay-Z would be the only one, at #88.

"Start a new thread..."- how about you keep that opinion to yourself?

Take it easy. I suggested starting a new thread since you may garner more responses that way. I'm also curious to know what people think are the "worst bands".

As for Brtiney, you should of have included her in your list instead.

10 isn't enough to include everyone, and too little to keep from excluding someone equally worthy of my listing.... but without trying to over-think it, .... giving tenure the respect it deserves, here is mine. I like many newer things or shorter lived things, but have liked these too much for too long to knock em off a list like this. I won't separate "solo" acts.

    Rush
    Led Zeppelin
    Yes
    Zappa & the Mothers
    James Brown
    Pixies
    Beatles
    Primus
    Kiss
    Radiohead

But what about Pink Floyd, The Stones, Beeheart, The Who, Sly and the Family Stone, Talking Heads, Pantera, Gwar, Metallica, and what about the Stones, and Sublime and the Police? and REM? and Willie Nelson and Fleetwood Mac and and and....

yeah, these lists just don't work for me really. It's just too hard to qualify so much good music so abruptly. Glad others can though, good lists everyone.

Yeah, I know- just been a crappy week.

Britney, Justin, Taylor, NKOTB- there's a special place for that music.
