Stop the bickering already. We're supposed to be HAPPY we got a win. Now I'm getting a lot of negative vibes coz of these recent comments. SMH
When Lin runs the offense, the team gets plenty of fast breaks, the role players play hard, and corner 3's are found. But when there's no fast break, the go-to isn't a contested 3 that may go in or miss depending on luck and what type of shooting night it will be. The ball gets dumped down low. High % basketball. #playoffbasketball
I love the Asik highlight videos! Great way to re-watch the game. I'm not an expert enough to keep an eye on everything at once so I tend to follow the ball and the perimeter. Having a video where you know you are supposed to watch the center is a great change of perspective. Lin is throwing the same style passes as before but he has figured out that Asik's shins go past a normal person's knees; he's bouncing them higher. He credits O with catching them but the higher success rate of the passes is equally due to Lin aiming them higher.
size and athleticism really bothering trob when he tries to finish ain't college anymore, needs to hit up chuck Hayes and learn to finish
A great game where nearly everyone played well... if only the bench didnt go to sleep... it was pretty close at the end. I'm also happy to see Lin finally being more open and expressing his feelings. I don't think he's trying to send any messages to anybody, just speaking his mind. I hope Les can see this and save Lin from McHale. I don't get McHale, just look at his interview and how he reacts to the question about Lin. Jason asks a good interview question...but i don't know why he won't give a precise answer, maybe Morey advised him to avoid Lin questions so he can keep his job. http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/2013/04/01/postgame040113mchale1mp4-2431814 I love (sarcastically) the way McHale dodge the questioning of the need or suggestion that Lin could continue play with control, ball handling and style when harden is back... not only did mchale didnt answer the question... he went on and on about youth... up and down... and his mumbling without answering the question. what we all wanted to hear was either.. NO. when harden is back, he is the star and therefore everyone takes a back seat and compliment harden.. or YES, we love the way Lin plays and we need him to be more in control... a precise answer would be nice... BUT perhaps its because mchale just doesnt know?? no credit was given to Lin for the way he has handle the pressure to keep the team rolling with 2 other stars and scorers on the bench. this is pretty sad. I would have thought a coach is a manipulator or mind and players to make them think they are better and can offer more.. to get them to offer more and encourage them... if only mchale was more Phil jackson and get more from their players!...
Lin is simply trolling and making funs. You just go to Feign's twitter and will see another twitter followed by Feign, making fun on those who is serous about Lin's troll

McHale didn't even answer the question about Lin, he dodged it. Lin, for a guy who chooses his words very carefully and is highly intelligent, basically just openly griped about 1) Finally getting more touches and being the actual point guard for this team 2) Not playing in the 4th in a tongue in cheek manner. Anyone who can understand anything between the lines knows it. Rockets will go with Beverly/Brooks next year. There's clearly disagreements between Ownership, Coaching, and Lin in terms of how he's used (he even mentioned his own usage rates and touches). I would not be surprised at all if Lin goes out in a package deal with 1 other Rockets starter or young guy like Jones, Greg Smith - probably in a sign & trade. Possible Laker next year?
I am not so sure that I agree with Bima. I don't think any NBA starter is happy about not playing in the 4th when the game is close.
I know right? Like some other poster said, if he's doing fine, why wouldn't he close out a game? It's not like he was 1/15 or something.
for pau? McHale would be gone before lin, but who knows. ultimately, it's les decision. It,s only yr 1, his contract isn't that bad to be honest
Jon Feigen is essentially the Rockets' only beat writer. He's the first to put out the recap, first to get out quotes, and covers the vast majority of Houston Rockets articles for Houston's only major mainstream newspaper. Aside from David Barron, the Chronicle has no one else covering the Rockets. There are no other major papers in town like in other Top 10 markets that cover Rockets basketball. There's no thriving ESPN Houston page. Typically major sports teams in large markets have at least 2 major mainstream newspapers, a few other large independent papers, and a ew other fan sites that will cover team news (like clutchfans). The Rockets only actually have 2 pro writers. Feigen and Barron. Understand that. There's Jon Feigen. The Rockets only have him. Meaning they're close. All the Rockets staff know him, Management knows him, and he knows them well. He won't write anything that ****s this relationship up, and as long as he doesn't do this he'll get everything he needs from the team. He's basically part of their PR team. You don't need to have ****ing written the scripts to The West Wing to understand that Lin was indeed stating his viewpoint on his situation with the team, his touches, and playing time. Feigen is just downplaying, as he knows it's the smart play for him. If he had tweeted: LIN QUOTE, NOT HAPPY WITH PLAYING TIME, WANTS TO BE THE PG. #LINSANITY UH OH LAKERS? You think he'll get the quotes he needs the next day? You don't think Morey and McHale who see him everyday (and only him) will have something to say about it?
Like you said, its tongue in cheek. Lin is a funny guy and jokes about quite often. Does he want to be used better and played more often? Of course. But to speculate that there are internal disagreements that would lead to future trades is a tad extreme.
when the season is coming to an end when the team is fighting for a playoff seed when the team is trying to get a better seed position then every remaining game of this season counts and every win is equally important. So what comes first? winning a game is the 1st priority and anything should come second. I agree with some comments in this thread that the clock just barely ran out to save the win. 5 points with about 2 minutes left in a game could be an enterity in NBA. For this game, it should not be about "I am confidence that the bench will hold on the win", but rather, it should be "the win has already been 100% secured and the bench can play on regardless of the final score will be". The game was won and so all the talking remains talking without any harm done. However it shouldn't have ended this way for this game.
Yup... nice PR tweet by Jonathan Feigen for the Rockets, keep that in the house. You can't tell me Lin is happy about the playing time.
Especially since he has said that he liked having the ball at the end of games (Toronto game 2012), when it mattered most. As a competitor and professional athlete, i'm pretty sure his feelings haven't changed from last year. Yeah, his role is different here but it doesn't mean that his feelings have changed from the previous year.
