Let players learn to play through mistakes, or take them out to be punished? Cmon make up yer minds peeps!
DMO was on bench today and he played bad. Smith (20 min) and Garcia (25 min) played great as starters but I don't know why their minutes were so limited today considering how efficiently they played.
Did DMO play in the third? We lost the lead by 6 in that quarter and 8 in the 4th. I wasn't watching either.
our backup didn't do good job especially against orlando's "starters". mchale gambled that we had enough lead to weather through the storm with his backups and so left them play all 4th qt. it was close very close. this board just turned into all name calling.
Aaron Brooks and T-Jones who's been snubbed all year didn't get playing time because of McHale's decision. Ab could be a HUGE weapon for us in the playoffs and I'm not convinced T-Rob is a better option than Jones, couple of decent minutes and he could have forced himself into the rotation.
Bench started playing to protect the lead instead of executing. Orlando got it down to 5 before law and order was restored.
I'd say it was a combination of Dmo and Smith, thankfully Smith picked it up towards the end, he was probably cooled down by then having only played like 15 minutes earlier. T-Rob was missing alot of easy ones, but he also helped keep the lead at a safe margin with his D and got to the line. And then Delfino was stone cold tonight.
im ok with no lin or asik in the 4th. also remember he put in garcia but he got smacked in the face thus forcing delfino back in the game. what i would have liked to see is AB. he could have provided that spark of energy when we still had a big lead...
McHale is a poor coach. Not suretonight was an example of why, though. The bench should have been able to hold the lead better. They didn't, and had the game left on their shoulders anyway. Those were the best minutes they could have had. meanwhile, the starters rested, and the game was still won. McHale has some big damn cojones. Not sure he should have done it, but he got away with it.
bench players dont close out games in the playoffs...why do you think rotations tighten and starters play more minutes? this is just another addition to the collection of puzzling coaching brought to us by McHale.
Tbh I didn't think the bench worked themselves out of it, just that the clock ran out at that point. And I agree about DMo. He looked like crap this game. I still have hope for him though. And did Garcia steal Delfino's shot?
Ahh I see. I'm surprised Mchale let them play...he is usually very solid about keeping most starters in and playing it safe. The thing is that we would have most probably won and it is worth the starters not being over played so close to the playoffs. A win is a win and starters need rest.
Results speak for itself, it doesn't matter if you win by 1 point or 10 points or 50 points. The only thing that matters is the W. Absolutely nothing negative came out of what McHale did tonight. The young guys got to learn crisis management, starters get extended rest and the game became more interesting for the fans. You are just jealous of McHale's genius, and I bet you cannot name anything negative that came out of this game.
Something I've noticed is that when lin says well bev plays badly and vice versa. Rarely do they both click at once and rarely do they suck at the same time.
