I came into this thread looking for highlights. Not a LOF vs LOH flame war.

Can we just somehow autoban (maybe using an automated script or something) for a week anyone who uses the word "LOF" or "LOH" in their posts? People who use those words have no intention other than to troll. I confess that I've used those words before myself, but I'll clean up my posts if an autoban is in effect.

    Yes

I expected a great game out of him. With no Harden, the ball was in his hands, and no one other than Parsons/Beverly to setup the offense. He was mediocre.

The Clippers gave us that game by playing terribly. This was most likely due to it being the 4th game in 5 nights.

On a normal night, that performance is not going to get it done. But hey, a win is a win.

The Garcia/Delfino reminded me of messier and gretzky passing back and forth on a power play for a one timer. i thought Lin played alright but was surprised when i watched Rockets telecast and Worell saying he had a great game w/15points....pause... no more good stats lol

Eh, I can see where someone might say this.

Personally I'm just glad to see that Lin's improved his reactions to hard-traps. The last couple times teams were athletic enough to be able to hard-trap him and recover to their assignments (like the Heat), he'd only scored in single digits.

I'd honestly prefer that he'd do a good job help containing Chris Paul, and he did that, which stymied the Clippers offense so they were forced to go to Plan B.

It's not the most transcendent performance, but it was an effective one, within the team spirit, and I can't help but like that.

Where are these "LOH bombarding" posts? I've seen one or two trolls, but you can't just accuse everyone who criticizes Lin in any way a "LOH." Lin fans are too quick to throw that acquisition around.

No, they're not. They're Lin fans. They have trashed the organization, other Rockets players, and the GM. They aren't Rockets fans.

Considering that the Wizards play near .500 ball with Wall, I'd say that the Wizards would be in the playoff picture with Harden.

    Response

I am responding to your post under an assumption that you are a LOFH rather than a LOH. I think Lin played pretty decently (I would not say Lin played well given his standard) and tried very hard to contain CP3, given that CP3 and Clippers tried to take Lin out of the game. I think Lin fought well and gave his teammates an opportunity to win. I do not agree with some who believe Lin should be the player of the game -- I think any of 4 Rockets players could be the player of the game -- but given the situation, I think Lin fought well from the initial dumb mistakes. Look, any time you hold CP3 to less than 20 points and prevent him from taking over 4th quarter, while scoring 15 points, you didn't do too badly.

Being realistic, are you going to start Bev over Lin? Maybe you want to, but Mac is not doing that. Does Mac want to do that, but is being forced by Les or Morey to start Lin? I have to say no. The fact is if Lin does not play well, or Harden does not play a better D, Rockets are going to get killed during 1st round of playoff. And I believe Lin is playing deservingly of his $5 mill to $8 mill salary level.

The bottom line is I don't think Lin played as well as some say he did, but he fought hard to contain a top PG and gave his team a chance to win. I believe the reasons why Rockets won was because Rockets D was good, Clippers missed some easy shots, CP3 did not go off in the game, several Rockets players shot well, and Lin contained CP3, a maximum contract player in NBA. But during some moments, yes, Lin's passing was very, very telegraphed, and he just got outplayed by a great NBA PG during those moments; but believe me, Clippers tried very hard to destroy Lin, a lot harder than they tried to destroy Bev.

What this game does is to raise a legitimate question whether Mac should reduce Harden's minutes and force Harden to play a better D.

I know Clutch doesn't have the time to deal with each of these types of posters, but man... it's an excellent start.

These types are the only real negative on this unbelievably cool site.

I am all for venting, griping, expressing your frustration and anger, as long as it's in a mature, reasonable and sensible way.

Some of the constant negative posters continue to show their basketball (and life's) IQ, maturity and lack of any understanding of what actually goes on in the league.

To claim someone "has it out for" a player or "hopes they fail" is just absurd and makes no sense whatsoever.

The knee jerk posts are beyond comical anymore - they make it hard to even want to sift through to get to good ones.

I have been a Rockets fan since the Murph and Malone days.

While I was disappointed to lose both our point guards, I was very happy when Morey signed Lin. I knew he wasn't as good as his Linsanity run, but felt he was a young, developing point guard with potential, and much better than anything we had at the time.

His story and his attitude and demeanor make him easy to root for. I actually purchased his jersey - only the second for me since the Elie, Horry, Max, Dream and Clyde ones (Stevie being the other).

So, I obviously LIKE him. But, man... if you guys can't see when he is struggling - picking up his dribble, not utilizing his left AT ALL in spurts, making careless passes, etc - something is wrong. And to blame that on McHale or anyone "taking away his confidence" is just crazy.

I definitely didn't want McHale as our coach. But, to consistently call him out for each and every little thing that someone doesn't agree with - especially when, as Clutch describes - this team is in position to make the playoffs when almost no one thought they would - is just unbelievable. I don't agree with everything he does (definitely agreed with benching the starters the other night though!), he's done a very good job overall, all things considered.

I know Clutch has very little time to "patrol" the site, but there's no doubt if he (and associates?) were able to weed out some of these guys, like the ones he's recently moved out, we'll all be much better off.

    Great job, Clutch!

He was pretty mediocre, at least on the offensive end. I like the fact that he was being aggressive, but some of those fouls were given not earned, refs got our back in that game.

He played solid D on CP3 while CP3 made him look real bad on a few possessions, but thats CP3, understandable.

It is so bad to see that everyone need to add something
like I like lin but .....................

This is what clutch should do. Simply got those trollers out
of this forum. It is the trollers that pick up fight every night,
every game, teasing other rockets fan, pretending to be fans
and then trolls. Every night, they just start some posts and let
the fight starts and hide in the corner giggling.

    By the way,
I still need to end my post with this sentence,
"Rockets can enter playoff not because of Mchale."
Sorry but I will buy into this

To be fair though, he was constantly the focal point of their defense constantly getting double teamed. It's obvious that he struggles hard when he becomes the focal point of someone's defense. Something he'll have to learn to deal with in time. Or else he'll never become anything more than average - above average.

There were make up calls. For example, the Lin foul on the wrist. The very next play, Lin got called a foul when he breathed on CP3. There was another time when he was double teamed, the Clips fouled, and the ball rolled off of Lin's knee, causing a TO. My point is, there are make up calls.
