Lmao. Yall seriously overrate our guys. I love Parsons but Iggy is simply a better player overrall. If you'd take Parsons over Iggy your time as GM wont last very long

No thanks. Just off of his name and past accomplishments, he will want triple what Chandler makes. I agree he is a better defender than Chandler, but he is not as good as the cap space he will tie up. Pass. Let one of our rivals over pay for him.

This a'nt NBA 2K with the salary cap turned off. Is Iggy a better player? Yes. But to upgrade at one position you have to downgrade at another. When you put the comparison in the context of the salary cap, Chandler is $ for $ the better player. As in more production for you cap space.

I'd last longer than you, because you would have $9M a year tied up into a washed up player that would be your center piece and no other star player would want to build around. You'd be forced to over pay another borderline all star $10M and then you'd be forced to build your team around the two with $3 and $4M scrubs.

You do realize there is such thing as a salary cap right??

I think Parsons at 900K a year is better then Iggy at 16M a year.

It's hilarious how you want to tie up all our cap space and keep us mired in mediocrity.

I suspect Iggy will be a big target of Morey's this summer. Especially if they go after a second tier PF like Millsap.

He's coming off his worst season offensively probably ever which is worrying along with the fact that he's going to turn 30 next season. So you've got a 30 year old on the first year of a four year ~$50 million contract...

But he has the impact of a star through his defense which is where Houston needs help and he wouldn't be replacing one of our best players like Dwight would. Parsons could get time at the PF position anyway.

I'm really not sure what I would do in Morey's position here.

Uh, I know what I would do, NOT sign a guy at the same position I already have a guy with similar production at, who happens to be 7 years younger, makes 10 times less $$, and won't completely hamstring me from signing another superstar to pair with Harden.

    But that's just me.

That makes sense. If we could somehow manage to sign both Milsap and Iggy...which means we would probably have to trade Lin or Asik to make up for the extra cap hit.

Chandler Parsons is a better fit for this team and is on a better contract.

No reason to get Iggy when he'll be paid at market value since he's not a max player. We should always aim for undervalued players and we've got one of the most undervalued contracts at the 3 with CP.

Well I'd much rather have Parsons who is a very good complimentary offensive player and solid defender then an aging declining player that would require a huge contract and who is ball-dominant on offense when we already have Harden and Lin handling the basketball.

He's obviously looking for a long term deal, and willing to opt out of 16 mil guaranteed next year to do so... Pretty risky stuff. That tells me he's looking to get locked in long term before his skill level, athleticism, and role importance starts to decline.

As his agent, I would warn him that with Denver, he would probably see a smaller role next season on a team whose young talent gets better, and better as time goes on, and the market for his services will be lessened. Plus, there are a few big name free agents that could also hit the market in 2014, and lower his asking price.

If he opts out this Summer, and hits the free agent market, a team like Dallas, Atlanta, Cleveland, Phoenix, etc. could really set their franchise back if they gave him a 50 to 60 mil contract, and he declined dramatically in year 2. Its enticing for the production you will most likely get in year 1 or year 2, but long term, he's not the guy for a team like the Rockets, Cleveland, or even Phoenix who are trying to build with youth longterm. Iggy isn't exactly a senior citizen, but his best asset as a player is his athleticism which could see a dip in the next year or two. He just doesn't have the skill level to be a dynamic player without it.

So, no if Iggy hits the free agent market, I say pass if it means signing him for 4 or 5 years. Oh, and I do believe Parsons will be the better player in 2 years... you can almost bank on that one, and it might even be debatable today.

Parsons is the team glue...he's brings lot of young girls into the games and is paid so little. I would never trade Parsons away for anyone who isn't a LBJ.
