i love harden , even when he stinks up. it's just that he is misused. it's like thta golden goose story
That's definitely a factor, but we were also missing Harden so that cancels each other out imo. I'm just glad we got the win. Much needed after the last few stinkers.
They also scouted and planned their game around Harden being in so that was another advantage for us. We needed this win no doubt. And now we are at 40 wins!
In addition to this, the defense against Lin, at least how Chris Paul played him, was to give him the obvious pass and then jump the route. They were very good at controlling what type of shots that Lin was able to create and then exploit it. That and also, Chris Paul is that good. For anyone that watches Chris Paul frequently would notice, he is very good at understanding what opposing point guards are trying to create on offense and then jumping the pass. That happened to Lin on 3-4 possessions where Paul just straight up outplayed Lin for those steals.
heard the news he was out simultaneously with finding out we won... knew i would come home to this... i was right
I don't give a crap about what some other poster's opinion is. How someone is being used is purely an opinion, even if you try to color it by cherry picking stats. The reason he is playing a lot is because not many people step up. Tonight it probably hit them (Also mchale's choice not to bring them back in the pacers game) they came out with a lot of intensity. Speculation can drive people crazy. Take a deep breath and look at things objectively.
depending on what the team's goal is...perhaps they are padding his stats to increase his popularity and attract other superstars... heck kobe is misused a lot throut years but nevermind it raises his popularity and rating of la allowing them to bring in cash and favorable deals
It's a kneejerk response that happens everytime a star player goes down. It happened when CP3 went down earlier this year, until their run ended. It happened last year when Rose went out and Bulls had a nice run. It happens everytime when Wade goes down, people cite that stat that shows they're 25-5 or something without him. It happened when Bosh went down, until the Pacer's series where it became apparent they struggle without him. It's happening with Rondo being out.
He has so many tricks to still score efficiently and pick his spots, but he has definitely not looked the same, he has been avoiding contact for example
Maybe I'm not watching the same James Harden... He has averaged 10.4 FTA per game since the all star break. He's averaging 10.1 FTA for the whole season. I know stats don't tell the entire story, but they sure do tell a pretty good part of it. I don't see any difference in his game at all. He's clearly still looking for, and drawing, foul calls.
You can't be serious. That's one of the more absurd comments I've read around here in a while, which is saying a lot.
Or that the Clippers have only won one road game all month. Sometimes things just happen. Like Miami losing to Washington or the Rockets catching a beat down from the Suns... A win is a win...
He is still getting fouled but visually how he is doing it and his decision making is different from early in the season, you can tell he is being bothered by it.
